Yes , and now you've let the cat out I must get this post in before going out as he is capable of posting the last 49 before I get back this evening ;D ;D
Sergeant T don't forget your laptop in Jersey next year so you don't get withdrawal symptoms and start playing chess again while all around you are doing the usual BB trick of drinking loads :o 8-) :-/

Aha, now you've pointed that out I'd better soft-pedal a bit.
Far be it for me to overtake The Main Man, I'm far too 'umble for that.
I can foresee a period of sitting on my hands until you let the poor fellow back on. Don't you think he's suffered enough ?
From my signature you should know that I'm a champion of lost causes............
Sparky - I can drink as much as the next man. It's just that over the years I've mastered the art of not appearing pi$$ed ! :P

There's an old Red Indian saying that goes something like :
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"
(Edit) No, it's Olde Englishe, before anyone tries to turn this into a quiz:
Although you may be able to show a person what is best, according to this proverb, you cannot force him to it - even though it is in his interest.
An early version of the saying, 'A man maie well bring a horse to the water. But he cannot make him drinke without he will,' was rendered in John Heywood's 'A Dialogue Conteinyng the Nomber in Effect of All the Prouerbes in the Englishe Tongue (1546).

It's disappointing to read that the Olive branch was offered and refused. A genuine shame.
However, what makes humans great is the ability to forgive and forget - hopefully, in the fullness of time, that will happen on both sides.

Is that wot you call sheep in Surrey :-* :-* Yeah, they're a long-horn variety, distantly related to the Castlemilk Moorit. Re: Elsie's comment on Fazza, I endorse that, time's a great healer, let's hope so. There's room for everyone here !

I too hope that time will resolve this issue, fearing that it may be a long wait but still hoping for the best.
Personally I would not want any genuine BB player to be banned or them to wish to 'resign' from the forum but have to accept that the world isn't that easy.

Have no fear, tommo's here !
I have been quiet 'cos I have been working on a new quiz with architectural content (to please Sparky) and a Lincolnshire bias (to favour Elsie). ;)
As for Sav, well I burnt the candle at both ends researching the answers to your Sheep quiz - what about my one on Goats ? And I took so much care to leave the horns off most of mine, as most of your sheep had that strange attribute................ ;D
Anyway, a Happy New Year to everybody, including my fellow Forum Master and joint top spammer ! 8-)

It's surprising that no one picked up on Mr Tommo who has passed the 4 thousand posts 8-).
To me this is a quite remarkable feat and I doff my cap to the distinguished moderator :D.

Well thank you. As the holiday season approaches, fewer and fewer people seem to be posting at present.
I've tried to keep interest going with a few interesting (?) quizzes, but sometimes people get turned off if the replies are allowed to swamp the site.
So it's important to have some general chat about bar billiards as well, and a few old threads have recently been resurrected with this is mind.
