In an extremely high scoring evening at the Plough & Harrow, Bridge the home B side lost to Betteshanger Alma Lions 2-4.
The visitors started well, winning the first two singles through Chris Saville (11,200) and then John Addley (10,950) both of whom hit large opening breaks, before John Fullager (10,750) hit back for the home side to round off an impressive set of singles matches.
In the first doubles game (all 2k limit), Saville & Addley (6,170) put the visitors further ahead in a close leg which saw over 12k scored against Fullager and Stan Brocklebank. The next two doubles matches were again very close matches as Brocklebank & Kay narrowly lost to Saville & Wack Sampson (4,240) before the home side won the last game thanks to Kay & Fullager (5,170) pipping Sampson & Neville Potts as the bar dropped.
Overall there was over 66k scored in the six games, which saw the Betteshanger side strengthen their position at the top of division one.
