Kendal 1 - 4 Dyke B
Game 1. D Richings 830 - T Cohglan 7120 Game 2. C Darvil 3270 - T Molloy 9800 Game 3. P Muckle 1560 - T Race 7810 Game 4. A Witcomb 1120 - M Hall 5740
The 4 man Dyke B team played thier games quite fairly. They only really showed the class that they have to win each game and at the end of each game.
Best comment of the night-
T Molloy to C Darvil - "will you shut up, I've never heard anybody moan as much as you"

Clash of the two favourites went the way of the champions. KT conceded that his team was outplayed on the Tap’s home table.
Brewery Tap A 4 – 1 Three Horseshoes
Chris Reeves 10,480 – 8,220* Kevin Tunstall Gareth Lloyd 14,220* - 2,950 Ian Lelliott Marc Chipman 0 – 15,550* Geoff Jukes Nigel Senior 15,450* - 5,000 Rick Dewdney Rich Wooton 14,650 – 240 * Mal Spier
Game 1 – This game would be key as Chris faced KT. KT missed on 5k when he hit a split too thick leaving both balls up. Chris failed to retrieve the balls first time but when KT missed next visit Chris was able to get the break back at the second time of asking. Chris followed this with a winning 10k break. 1-0
Game 2 – Gareth continued the tap’s good start and made 10k, to put the Tap 2-0 up.
Game 3 – After some deliberation Marc was put on by the Tap and the Horseshoes put on Geoff Jukes. Geoff was faultless with a 10k opener and the score was now 2-1
Game 4 – Nigel to face Rick with the break to try and secure the points for the Tap. It would be the third game out of 4 to be killed on the opening visit as Nigel opened with 12k. Good game as Rick came back with 5k and Nigel still had time to add 3k to his final score before the end. 3-1
Game 5 – Mal looked good for a big score but pegged his opening 4k. Richard got the balls back but only came back with 800. Mal failed on his next visit, Richard didn’t and rolled in 13k. 4-1

Montreal 3 - 2 Stadium A
G Mechan 4940 - BP C Elliott M Barsby 1530 - 2110 A Messer B Mechan 2700 - 1780 S Wood D Robins 2290 - 1050 J Parsons W Pryor 2510 - 7140 M Pope
First win this year for the Mont!
Only bad point was learning one of the Stadium team no names mentioned Chris Elliott, decided to come in the night before the game and move the legs on the table adjusting the height. A few strong words were exchanged befefore the match. Would like to hear people's opinions on whether this is allowed or not????? We certainly wouldn't go in to another venue 24 hours before the match and try to change the table about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Gary on the Mont's first win of the season With regards to a member of the other team adjusting the table a day before the match, i think you will find most players agree that it is not on. It is your home table so the only team adjusting it should be players on your team. The away team can play on your table on any day apart from the day of the match (rule D7), so Chris was allowed to play your table the night before but certainly not adjust it. There is no actual rule saying that you can't adjust another teams table but to be honest it is an unwritten rule and part of the games ettiquette that you don't. Gary, If you think this should be discussed at our next committee meeting, please put something in writing so the commitee has the full facts in front of them.

This makes such alarming reading, I'm starting a special thread on the subject: please see GENERAL BAR BILLIARDS DISCUSSION board to avoid screwing up this thread.

Romans A 3 Windmill C 2
Windmill C grab defeat from the jaws of victory, TJ and Dave Anscombe putting the Windmill two up. Dave Roberts and Gina had a rare old tussle, Dave coming out on top with break just as bar went. Paul opened up with a useful break against Arthur, who never relly got within striking distance 2 -2 setting up a final between the two captains Tony Hunt and Bill. Tony playede very well and Bill did not get to grips with the table. Bill kept within striking distanceand needed to keep the red up with two balls on the table to force a 200 shot win. position of balls meant near on impossible,Tony kept her nerve to record a very good win.
Excellent evening with plenty of banter ( even allowing that Terry Stapleton decided to throw his toys out of the pram. and take his leave). Hot dogs, burgers and chips being the fare of the night.
Waited with bated breath, but no sign of trick or treaters, although one or two frightening characters within the bar billiard area.

Albion 3 Duke of Wellington 2
Well the Albion were on a run of 12 legs of billiards without a win and the evening didn't start too well with Chris Parsons beating Doug and then Brian Bartrum giving Jean only 1 go to win 7k to 4k.Game 3 was Bella v Dave Bartrum after both getting more pegs than points Bella broke the run of 14 losing games.Kev and Sandra very relieved that the Welly had only 3 players to give us a 3-2 win.

But in no way were they sanctioned by any other member of the team. Chris will also be told quite clearly that this is unacceptable, even if done with good intentions at heart.

Alan, it's all water under the bridge now and we're not going to moan or mention it again, everyone makes mistakes.
Cheers Gary
