Sportsman 3 Stand Up Inn 2
DA-DM 1,210 - 1,220 Paul Rayner Brown Paul missed his opening break but the balls were left awkwardly. Colleen hit a lovely shot to the 200 hole then got a bit of luck to get the break back and score 840. Paul also managed a nice touch into the 200 hole to nearly catch up, Colleen had one shot at the 100 hole to win the game but Paul made no mistake. 0-1 :(
BB Warrior 3,670 - 330 Terry Gasson Very scratchy start from me, balls stayed at the back for a while before I managed a 2k break. Terry unfortunately hit the black peg with a miscue to hand me the win. 1-1 ;)
Henry Brooks 2,050 - 2,970 Spencer Copping Spence opened up with just under 1k, balls stayed in the middle for a while before H got a bit of luck to get the break back and level the scores up but Spence played well after that to get the break back a couple more times while H suffered. 1-2 :(
Lady Ros 2,440 - 890 Andy Guy A solid 1.2k opening break gave her a good lead which Andy was never able to close. 2-2 ;D
Big TJ 4,670 - 820 Alex Schlup Alex missed his second shot, Tony hit a good 1.25k opener. Alex got the break back but lost just under 1k, Tony scored a few then hit a "Jersey Special" to get the break back and hit a nice break of just under 3k to win the match. 3-2 ;D 8-)
Enjoyable evening, plenty of laughs and the usual spread of sarnies, chips & onion rings..... one day we might even finish them! ::) ;D ;D

Brewers bid to retain the Off The Spot Cup for the third year in a row gets of to a great start! BREWERS DROOPS 5 HORNS LODGE 0
Peter Hall 880 Jean Guildford 720 A tense opener to the evening, with both papa hall and jean seeming to find more pegs than pockets, along with several missed balls thrown in for good measure. Jean could have pinched it at the end with the last ball with each having 3 goes at it, papa hall got it on the 4th. 1-0
Kev Hall 2000 Steve Smith 1300Quite bizzare how the off the spot cup, changes your perspective of the game, a perfect example here with the normally big hitting reaper man fluffing his opening break, a close fought one again with steve digging deep to stay with the reaper, kev with the win though steve may have felt he should have nicked it. 2-0
AFW 1510 Dave Guildford 420 Another close one this, poor dave caught a bad dose of knockis pegus downis, which he nearly passed on to the big man, both coming close to havin the black over. Big Andy fought har tho and took the tie to give the droops the tie. 3-0
Sir Jock 4360 Ben Proctor 1240 Captain up next and I too messed up the break to let big ben in. Scrappy match with yours truly pulling off one or two beautiful shots (lucky) to get back in front, helped along nicely with a 2k+ break close to the end. 4-0
Adam Bateup 2360 Geoff Winson 1910 And onto the last, with Geoff missing the break and Adam catching the knockis pegus bug, all was looking well for Geoff to save the lodge from the whitewash, Adam dug very very deep to fight back and with a the shot of the match to seal it, needing 250, he scored 220 with 1 ball in the tray 1 ball behind the 10 pocket and a ball on the white spot, the cheeky sod bent the cue ball around the black, not only making contact but potting object ball in said 10 pocket and the cue ball into 200 pocket then dropping last ball into 100, :o :o :o superb stuff. 5-0
Great night all round, with mike serving up a ploughmans for us all, thanks to my trough monsters for at least leaving me one piece of ham and a piece of cheese lol!!!! Bad luck to the lodge, nothing really went their way on the night and I managed to nick their pickled onions!!
