Wellie B 3 - 2 Wellie A
Not the best of nights at the Wellie. It should have been a good evening but it was ruined by a, selfish idiots who got got a little stroppy because they were asked not to walk behind players when they were taking shots, b, the table was not at its best up the back end and c, a couple of things slowing the proceedings.
Game 1. Tim v Dave. This game show the way. Dave ended on around 3k Tim on 750ish 1-0 Game 2. Myself v (sorry I've forgotten his name). A break of about 2k was enough. 1-1 Game 3. Pete v Chris. Chris was put off a little by having to wait for Pete to finish buying his beer. He then messed up his second break shot (he said the red came off it's spot) and that let Pete in to score enough. 2-1 Game 4. Abandoned after 5 minutes. Roy had to go and sort out problems with the till. Game 5. Mark v Brian. This was the best game of the night. Brian was yards ahead with not a great deal of time left. Mark got the break back and scored 3k. Brian could not quite recover and lost by 300ish. 3-1 Game 4. Garry v Roy. Again, neither player got to grips with the back end and Roy won a very scrappy game. 3-2
Else were
Montreal 3-2 Kendal.
I only mention it so I can say well done to Dave Richings on winning his first game of the season.

Brewery Tap stay unbeaten with win over Dyke A – details a little sketchy as I was part concentrating on England’s awful display in the football.
Dyke A 2-3 Brewery Tap A
Game 1 – Chris Tupper v Chris Reeves. Although Reevesey pegged his opener he seemed to get the balls back on every visit. Eventually he settled to make a decent break at the end. 0-1
Game 2 – Mick Winder v Steve Mariner. Mick was soon off . Steve got the balls back and toughed it out and got a good lead. Mick couldn’t respond and Steve finished the game off with another good break ending on over 10k. 0-2
Game 3 – Colin Smith v Richard Wooton. Loads of chances for both players as they both struggled on the table. Eventually Colin won the game with a break in the last couple of minutes, to keep the game alive for the Dyke 1-2
Game 4 – Dave Reeves v Marc Chipman. Another close game with loads of chances. Dave held on for the win and set up the decider 2-2.
Game 5 – Charlie Cooper v Nigel Senior. Nigel’s break and he made the most of it kicking off with 9k. He added another 4k at the end to take the highest score of the night. 2-3
Other score Romans A 2 - 3 Dyke B

Windmill `C` 3 Three Horseshoes 2
It certainly is tough trying to give 5 breaks away on this top (although we managed it last season). It`s very playable, but a big advantage to the home team.
Game 1 - Big TJ kicked off with 6k, Ian retrieved the balls but miscued on about 2k. Tony added another 4k. 1 - 0
Game 2 - Our reserve for the evening Martin Smith could never get going against Gina. She made a couple of breaks to win comfortably. 2 - 0
Game 3 - Mal & Dave Anscombe had three goes at the break each, but Dave timed his last one just right to win by 700. 3 - 0
Fortunately there was no TV in the lounge bar otherwise we could have all been a bit depressed at this point, but Jackie done us proud with a great Thai Green curry & rice.
Game 4 - Rick & Geoff had a rare old tussle. Geoff sinking the last ball to win 3 - 1
Game 5 - Bill decided to give Arthur the last break, but he was off early. I got the balls back straight away and touched on at 9k. 3 - 2
TJ 10020 Ian 2610 Gina 6680 Martin 1290 Dave 4940 Mal 4250 Rick 4210 Geoff 4490 Arthur 2100 Kt 11120
Great evening & fab food.

Just to say thanks to KT for a very fair report, and yes the table can bite you int he bum, but as said is very playable. Excellent curry which most went back for second helpings.
Kt graciously forgot to say that I (especially) and Gina rode our luck, both ending on reasonable scores after some peg shaving.
