To paraphrase Kipling:-
If you can get the break when everyone else is missing it And if you can keep your breaks when everyone else is losing theirs Then you'll be a bar billiards winner my son! ;D
Try telling that to Messrs Brown, Brewer, France, Higgins, Denyer, Scott all of whom were guilty of one or the other during the Elms-Warren Club match this evening. Well perhaps not so much to Higgins and France who did eventually win their games.
In 1 Graham Lewis (replacing the holidaying Gary Ridley) won with 5000 ish against Ron Brewer.
In 2 I beat Chris Scott with breaks of 3200 and 6800
In 3 there were 200 points on the board after 11 minutes of the game between Worthing B inter-league stars Nick Brown and Dave France. Dave had lost more than Nick after missing a ball up the middle between the 100 and 200. Then when Nick got the break back when 1000 behind with 2.5 minutes left he suddenly couldn't get the break. He did, however, make a very commendable 1300, but Dave had time to get the break again and finish off.
In 4 Tony Burgess scrapped well to beat Vern Blake and win the match for the Warren Club.
In the dead game old rivals Denyer and Higgins both lost breaks (Terry's was 4000) and Higgins eventually ran out winner.
If you take the p*ss out of your opponents and team-mates, and Thus open yourself up to ridicule should you lose the next week, Then best to take that week off to go to White Hot Lane! ;)
Come on you Spurs!!

Duke of Wellie 5 - 0 West Tarring Club
The Duke took all five games tonight, to make it 3 out of 3. Richard Wooton top scored with 15700 and I was close with 15300. We should see some big breaks on that table this year - it was lovely

Stadium 4 - 1 Windmill C
Very few details as I wasn't present, but Geoff Jukes had an 11k break & Martin Smith a 17k score. Windmill's winner was Steve Aylmore.
