That is fine, but just be aware that both Dave Barnes and myself are otherwise engaged on Tuesday nights. It is Eynsham league night, as you know. So, if you want the trophies presented at the match, you will need to avoid Tuesdays.

If we play it on a Tuesday Pete, can you not switch your draw around so that you or Dave can get to the Final? The saturday date (18th) is no good for us, so we will have difficulty in arranging otherwise.

We do play two legs each in Eynsham, you know! 1 and 4, 2 and 5, or 3 and 6.
Apart from that, I am proud to say I am a team man and like to support my team-mates, and rarely decide to leave before the match is finished, despite living so far from "home" (if you understand me).
The only occasions I would do this are (1) if I have had an extremely busy day and am tired or (2) if I have to be up early the next day for a flight to Jersey or something or (3) if something is wrong at home.
I have already said that I am not available for presentations on a Tuesday. I certainly will not abandon my team to carry out this duty. If Dave or Phil can, then OK, but it is up to them. Otherwise, you will have to wait until another occasion.

Good luck to our team tonight, as we take on the mighty Wallingford A team. Probable team for them will be Kevin Tunstall, Leon Beer, Dennis Atkins, Mark Turner & Tony Martin. Not bad 8-)
Come on lads we can do it. :)

Good luck to both teams, obviously I have to support the Wallingford boys (old men) but it should be a good match. Wish I had the time to be there tonight.

1st Leg Wallingford A 4 Oxford A 1 Agg 42,710 to 23,720
Dennis Atkins 8,060 Alan Oliver 1,370 Tony Martin 8,530 Keith Sheard 400 Kevin Tunstall 200 Steven Sheard 16,920 Mark Turner 19,150 Jason Cattermole 0 Leon Beer 6,770 Kevin Godfrey 5,030
Dennis needed 3 breaks for his score, but was not realy troubled by Alan. I started OK, but a bad split shot whipped out of the 100 hole & took the peg out to give Tony the break back. He then got a 5,000 break & was never in any danger of losing because I couldn't pot a ball after that. :( Steven, who is in great form at the moment, nearly ran the table out with a fantastic break of 16,920, only missing the last ball in the 100 pocket. Kevin sunk it in the 200 hole. Mark did play the table out against Jason. Brilliant show of potting at speed. Kevin opened with a hard earned break of 4,800, but Leon hit back with two breaks to win. The luck was certainly with him though.
A dissapointing result for us, but hopefully we can turn it around in the 2nd leg on Tue 21st Nov @ the Nelson. We were 4-1 down against Reading A in the 1st round 1st leg, but still won. So we must believe that we have a chance to do it again.
Well played Wallingford & well done Steven. A truly great performance against KT.

Yes well done steven, seem to recall you playing it out in the league last season as well. Methinks you need to come out against the break in future!
Great evening at the Rose & Crown, what will be my last match there (when you get a shot that is). Thanks very much to Ray & Pauline for looking after us so well, we really fell on our feet there. Couldn`t have found a better pub or publicans.
Good luck to the Rose & Crown in the forthcoming season.

Dave Barnes will be trying to make himself available to present the trophies on the 21st Nov. My team is away at Bletchingdon that night, so it is extremely unlikely that I will get there.

Final 2nd Leg
Oxford A 3 Wallingford A 2
Alan Oliver 8,090 Kevin Tunstall 300 Keith Sheard 9,990 Mark Turner 680 Steven Sheard 1,270 Leon Beer 10,480 Kevin Godfrey 9,110 Denis Atkins 2,730 Ernie Smith 380 Tony Martin 8,160
Game One, Alan started with 2,000+ leaving two difficult balls which Kevin (The World Champion) cleared for the break back, but he did not look happy on the table and after a couple of thousand played a split too thin and knocked the right hand peg over. Alan replied with another 5,000 break, 1-0. Game Two, Mark was going well on a 5,000 break but also took the right hand peg out with another thin split. I came back with a break of 9,800 to make it 2-0. Game Three, Leon went in with a fine break of 9,000+ to give Steven no chance to make it 2-1. Game Four, Kevin opened with 2,000 with Dennis replying with 2,000, but Kevin regained the break first to get a 6,000+ break. 3-1.
This meant that we had to win the last game by over 4,720 to win over the two legs. Game Five, Tony started well but was unlucky to knock over the peg to give Ernie the break back. He was on a 2,500 break when he missed a ball in the middle of the table. Tony then got two breaks of 3,000 & 5,000 to win the title again for Wallingford that they have won for the last three years.
Well done to Wallingford & unlucky to my team who put up a spirited fight back against a very good team.
Also a special thanks to Ernie for filling in the gap made by Jason Cattermole who preferred to play darts & didn't even bother to contact me. >:(

Unlucky Keith, must have been a great match to watch. You must be pretty disappointed about Jason not turning up, especially for a match such as this ! >:(

Well done to both teams in a Clash of The Titans.
I'm sure KT won't mind too much me pointing out that over the two legs the World Champion managed to score a total of 500 ! ;)
Still he has the last laugh, departing Oxfordshire finally with the big one under his belt. ;)

PS I was told that Jason was ALWAYS unavailable for BB on Tuesdays as he loves his darts. That has to be respected. So does the CAPTAIN need to be respected, we decided the date on the night of the first leg with Jason there, he said nothing until he went home with Alan Oliver, when he mentioned it to him that he would be playing darts instead. At no time has he had the decency to say anything to me, the CAPTAIN.
