Nice venue for bar billiards, though.....the clubhouse hosted 5 Northants Opens between 1994 and 1998. 8-)

That could be good news Tommo if it comes off. Dont think the poppies will be at Nene Park for 21 years but who knows.

Not giving up yet Stew although it looks bleak. I blame your lot not only for destroying your own team but also the situation were in, giving away a ground you were gifted by Griggs not the best move. ;)
What you should have done was keep the ground get rid of the football team and rent the ground to KTFC ;D As for supporting home town team shouldn't all these fans following AFC Diamonds be supporting Rushden and Higham FC.

No, because we've inherited the history of RDFC so is basically a follow on and before you say what history? achieved more than you in 20 years compared to the 140 or so of yours. ;)

Have to say today is surely the end for Kettering Town having lost at home 7-0 with only 10 players. Now i'm not going to gloat as another established club from Northamptonshire is going to the wall, it can only be a bad thing for the area. I hope the new KFC can get up and running and do what we've done and Kettering fans can start enjoying their football again. We won 4-0 in front of a crowd of 1157 by the way! ;)

I have to admit I didn`t think Rushden and Higham United would win that one but well done for supporting your local side ::)

Kettering FC seems to be the way forward for the loyal fans of Town. There is no stigma attached in seeing it through to the bitter end before jumping aboard the new club. You were never really properly at home with the move to a different club's stadium.
With a bit of luck KFC will be admitted to the United Counties League next season which is level 9 (step 5 of the non-league pyramid, and a feeder for the Southern League).
RIP Town, but a whole new adventure awaits. Keep the faith. ;)

See you there!

Looks like unpaid rent for Nene Park may have finally brought about the sad demise of the Poppies: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23936591Hard to stomach when the amount begging is probably the equivalent of the loose change in a Premiership player's back pocket.

Happier home at Burton Latimer ? More intimate, fewer overheads.....

Happier home at Burton Latimer ? More intimate, fewer overheads..... Burton Park certainly should be sustainable at our level but off field matters now threatening all the good work done. Support from the Football nation has been tremendous but i fear Cousins will raise the bar once again, he folded one of the counties non league teams {all-be it a small unloved side} and he seems set on doing the same to the most famous non league club in the country.

It's sad when the wrong type of money-men get their hooks into the club. Pompey have gone through the mill, Coventry being the latest. Terrible to see these once-proud clubs languishing in the lower divisions.
There are some happy endings for some clubs who have lost their grounds.....Brighton, and more recently Chester are now seeing happy times.
Non-league Ebbsfleet have found a rich backer, but you have to ask, any success they gain will they be able to sustain ? Crawley seem to be surviving okay despite my scepticism.
Let's hope that Kettering can find a way round the latest problem - and turn the corner.

Dons have now been given the okay for our new stadium, anticipated ready to move in 2018/19: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-35066622Note that to help fund the £20m project the lease on Kingsmeadow will be sold to Chelsea. What's the latest progress with the Poppies ?

Just googled your league table and see that while Poole Town are running away with it, you're only 5 points off 2nd place.
