Romans B 4-1 Schooner
R.Wooton 10,300 - 670* B.Kerr C.Reeves 21,720* - 100 D.Jones G.Lloyd 21,300 - 1,030* D.Anscombe M.Chipman 8,180* - 9,410 R.Cunningham N.Senior 16,230 - 2,860* A.Brewster
The Romans table playing at its best tonight - two 20k breaks, 21,390 from Chris, 21,300 from captain Lloydy. Consolation for Schooner came from Ric Cunninham who made a great 9,410 break to chase down Marc's 8,180 opening break.

What a night at the Tap, difficult to know where to begin, Terry falling of his chair, then calling Rose Ross!! He also offered to play mixed doubles with her, which she accepted much to his shock. The dreadful behaviour of the League Secretary Toni in whacking the Tap captain at least three times all of which were deserved and some of Spencer's outrageous comments which shocked the 'youngsters' amongst us. The banter was of the highest order and the match was played in exactly the right spirit. The result seems immaterial on these occasions but we did lose. The final result being:-
Brewery Tap 1-4 Romans A
Phil 1060 - 1860 Sleepy Dan 3750 - 4520 Terry Matt 3080 - 1460 Ross Spencer 3110 - 3520 Dave Rose or should that be Ross 10 - 3280 Paul
Higher scores than usual at the Tap as we have a new table, thanks to the Romans for a great night.

Mont 1-4 Dyke B
M BARSBY 3040 - 7190 T COGHLAN G MECHAN 7390 - 3190 D DAWSON M SCOTT 4130 - 8200 T MOLLOY B MECHAN 1550 - 11830 T RACE S BURNS 3700 - 6940 M HALL
Probablly could have won the third if Mop had got the balls back first being 3800 infront.
However with scores of: 3040 7390 4130 3700
would have beat most teams in our league last year, started to realise maybe we are entering a league a little too soon!
However not a player went home before 12.00 am so must be doing something right despite the dodgey oven!

Wellie B 3-2 Atlas
A good night at the Wellie saw a 4 man home team racking up our first win of the season.
Me 780 - 9330 Mick Mark 4160 - 1380 Sheena Tim 6260 - 2870 Brian Garry 4500 - 2290 Steve
Well done to Garry who says that is his highest league score.
Plenty of pizza for the Atlas team as only Garry from our side was eating. Mick giving advice to anybody within earshot (most of Shoreham), good beer and a spirited performance by both sides.

Dyke A 2 Three Horseshoes 3
After hearing from the Romans that the table was still tricky last week i didn`t know what to expect. The worries were unfounded as the table played really well, a bit of a roll up the top but lovely this end.
Tupps 0 v 18,530 Sir kt - I opened with just over 10k and added another 8 for good measure. 0 - 1
Mick W. 2,490 v 6,690 Geoff J. - Mick kicked off with under 2k and it was scrappy for a while until Geoff got them back and made 5k 0 - 2
Colin S. 9,030 v 3,280 Mr Reaper - Kev was going well on 3k until a 10 split stopped short. He kept his score but Colin eventually got them back and made enough 1 - 2
Simmo 4,300 v 3,180 Ricky - Both players had several chances here but Kev just edged it 2 - 2
Dobbo 150 v 16,140 Ian - Ian`s got a long memory and he kept telling us about when he lost to Geoff in the Worthing singles final of 83. He`s had to wait a long time to avenge that defeat but did it in emphatic style last night. Opening with about 8k and finishing off with another 7k. 2 - 3
