a fine 5-1 win for us away at Bletchingdon last night. Ben losing the only game on last. Very tricky table to say the least. Nice new top, it just hasn't been levelled since they had it put in a couple of weeks ago !!! Top score of the night was 4,950 !!!

The new Bletch table wasn't too bad when we played on it recently and will be good when set up properly.... We won 5-1 at Tandem A - a good result for us mid-tablers!! :) Steve Walker played well to take a rare game off Ray on that table. cheers Tony

I think we all tried everything on it to get the break going I did get some success going reverse but that did not last long before the ball came inside also... when the tables up on the web then ?

Blimey Tony, thats a great result for you. Were there any big scores ? the table was playing really nicely when i left. Put a quid in for a practice and got to about 12k before my back started playing up, so let someone else have a go !!! ;D Keith - you know the tables from last week, put in the 2 results you know and hey presto, an up to date table - its not rocket science ! :)

Blimey Tony, thats a great result for you. Were there any big scores ? the table was playing really nicely when i left. I think Ray had twelve'ish in the first and then I had nine'ish in the next and then they were all 7k wins or thereabouts. Table was alright though and a LOT better than last time I played it! cheers Tony

Some good scores then, quite a bit easier than the struggle we all had (home and away players) on the Bletchingdon table !!! I don't see why so many people complain about our table. If i can run the table out, there can't be a lot wrong with it !!! Lets see if it changes when it gets moved back into the bay window.

Being able to "run a table out" is very little to do with how good it is, IMVHO!
It is a lot to do with practice on that table, something you can do, being keen and close to home. Not all of us can do that.
But don't get me started on that one, again, or I may not see you till 2009.
Next subject????

Any player gets used to the foibles of their home table and instinctively allows for any drifts and inconsistancies that may cause away players a lot of trouble. TBH I haven't heard any complaints about your table this year - only it's position in the pub..... BB would be a bit tedious if ALL tables were perfect and all exactly the same - given the state of the current stock of tables in circulation, working out the idiosyncracies of an away table is one of the very necessary skills and that only comes with experience I'm afraid. You are getting there very quickly though....... ;) cheers Tony

Thanks Tony. I just hope i can work out the table quickly in our last match this season away at the Tandem A ;) I do hope the table is not moved before we play that game otherwise we will be at a big disadvantage ! Did Ray get hold of you about re-arranging our match ? did you say no ? ;D I told him i am sure my Dad would play in his place ;D ;D ;D

Sorry! :P :D I want to do the presentations and play the Summer Singles finals on September 26th if possible so I need to know which teams to tell.... Can you play it BEFORE Ray goes away otherwise we'll be into the week of the 26th before final league positions are known? thanks Tony

Colin is in Cornwall so did not play as he rang me this morning so no idea on their result - sorry...

Well keith, one of the results is ours and the other is from the secretary of the league and he is hardly going to lie about his result! especially as they played our A team and it is easy to check ! ps i don't think your spell checker is working properly !

What a really, really close league this is turning out to be! Just to let you know Tony, that our A team are playing against the Demos tonight (instead of tomorrow) and we are playing our A team tomorrow (instead of next Tuesday).

Very close Tony. Our A team lost 6-0 last night which moves the Demos level on points with us !!! The table in the Tandem got moved yesterday which i am not too happy about as it means our A team will have a big advantage now being the home team and being allowed to practice beforehand !

We beat our A team 4-2 last night in our final game of the season. 2 wins for me and Ben, 2 wins for Ray for the A's. Now just have to wait for the other results to come in. If only the points scoring was 3 for a win and 1 for a draw...... :(

And another point, every away game this year i was drawn out second which meant i had the break first :( :(
