Great result, have the Demos' boys had enough of the table and moved to the Corner House ? Interesting....

What happened in our Second match Mark ? We won 4-2 away at the Lamb & Flag. Tony took the card and thought he would have posted the score. Me and Ian Moss won both of ours, with Ian Gordon losing twice to Tony.

Tandem 5-1 Bletchingdon B
M Trafford 14,180 - 530 P Collett I Moss 6,260 - 1,940 R Collett K Hollis 3,080 - 3,070 E Wain Mark 12,310 - 1,200 Peter Ian 930 - 2,490 Ruth Keith 6,630 - 640 Enid
The Tandem table is playing nice again ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Keith was lucky to win his first game after sinking the last ball in the 100 pocket (at the 4th attempt!) He then scored a 5k break in his 2nd game. Ian lost a 5k break in his 2nd game to lose that one.

It wasn't the 4th it was the 3rd.
The first sailed inside the 100 hole passing on the left of the pocket
Second time I corrected the angle with a touch of left but decided to hit the ball so soft it just bounced off the side rail - idiot shot really
Third attempt played the same shot as the second but hit it hard enough and it went in this time to secure the point.
Dejavu was on the cards as I was 900 up with less than two minutes to go and on a break of a few hundred got a whip off the 20 hole lost the score and Enid potted the ball I hit the peg with, (Same thing happened to me at the masons two weeks ago) and proceeded to run the table out. The bar dropped during the second set of 50/50's when she was about 200 behind. Played the break to go 90 ahead but left one ball in the trap. Had she of played the one up when there were three balls left and potted both balls on the spilt she would have won but played another break shot and left me a chance....
Anyway you can't talk about that shot how many goes did you have at the hundred in your first frame must have been at least 10 goes each. I never thought it was going to go in the hole as I kept handing it back to both of you.

I never thought it was going to go in the hole as I kept handing it back to both of you. The difference is that i was 14k up and didn't need it to win the game !!! May have concentrated harder had i needed it!

17.7.07 Lamb and Flag lost 4-2 at the Saddlers - a real disaster! I lost BOTH to Roger Bowen, Steve Walker shared with Bill Keenan while Turbo shared with Jenny Parsons. Table was playing well so no excuses (well not many) The new smoking laws meant that loads of people were pushing past the table in their bid for nicotine - same for both teams though, but very off-putting.....
Beefy (Keith) - can you ring Roger Bowen on Witney 868239 re your singles game please - he doesn't have a number for you. ta.
cheers Tony

Rad Lion 6 - Tandem 0
Very one sided game with Red Lion playing very well and taking their chances well. Their lowest score was 7000+ compared to our largest of just short of 5000 by Mark. I managed another slow 3000+ and then missed trying to speed up....

Better Result this week.
Tandem 3 - Royal Oak 3
Should have been 4 - 2 though as Milhouse lost two sizeable breaks in the first frame with either one being good enough to win the frame.
Mark 0 - Mick 2 Ian 2 - Jane 0 Keith 1 - A.Pimm 1

Plus sitting and watching - almost falling asleep while my opponent scored 4200ish in 8m 50s in the 2nd game, then after having 1 shot, watching while he then scored 2500ish in around 4 mins. :o :o :o

Tandem 5-1 Bletchingdon A
I Moss 13,230 - 20 S Mulcock K Hollis 3,290 - 2,000 A Skinner M Trafford 12,400 - 690 P Soanes Ian 5,250 - 2,670 Steve Keith 2,520 - 950 Andy Mark 4,000 - 4,820
Breaks Mark Trafford 10k+
Good performance from the home players. Could have been a whitewash if i could have got the break back earlier, but being 4.5k down with under 3 mins left when i did get it back was asking a lot!

Bletch B 1 Lamb and Flag 5 Turbo and Steve both won two and I lost one to Pete Collett. I did have an 11k break in the second though.... ;) Table played quite well.
The Saddlers beat the Red Lion 4-2 at Cassington which was a bit of a shock result. Jon B won his two against Jenny P but Bill Keenan and Roger Bowen both played very well to take the rest of the points - the Lion's first defeat and at home too (and they weren't happy - allegedly!)
cheers Tony
