The Silly Rules are back in Eynsham. Played at the Red Lion Cassington last night:
Geoff Powell beat Bob Allsworth 2-0 1430 & 2260 840 & 1470 Geoff's initial break off missed the triangle and left the red hanging over the 200, but Bob made the 450 shot and felled the black at the same time. Geoff always in control of both legs with some good shots.
Pete Farrelly beat Ian Moss on aggregate 4160 - 3230 2930 & 1230 260 & 2970 Pete gradually built up a lead which was stretched by a further 1400 off the 50s at the end of the first leg. But he stopped scoring for the first 10 mins of the 2nd and Ian clawed his way back in little chunks. (Have you seen Ian's little chunks?) But the bar beat him with some relief felt from the victor.
In the play-off: Pete Farrelly beat Geoff Powell 2-0 2950 & 1520 1990 & 950 Once again, Pete built up a handy 1st leg lead and then stopped scoring. Geoff was still about 900 behind overall on the scoreboard when he miscued off the cushion going for the only ball on the table to lose a 600 break. If he had got the triangle up again, it seemed easy to score off it, and he would have probably caught me with seconds to go.
Fine practice session for the Oxon Open, not.

I may not always read through my posts if I am in a rush, but I do use punctuation occasionally, beefy The 9 is now corrected to 0.

Adding up did not come into it, bless you Keith! It was a case of hitting the 10th key along the top row instead of the 11th, but I do not sit here and count along the row. Do you?
