In the Dover, Deal & District Bar Billiards League, the Plough & Harrow from Bridge are top after a 3-3 draw away to the Market Inn B. Kevin Kay (3,730) and John Fullager (7,560) won for the Plough, either side of a Market win for Gareth Butcher (4,420). Dave Carliell & Alan Farra (4,930) took the first doubles to level, Kay & Fullager (6,660) regained the Plough lead, before Butcher & Carliell (4,470) forced the draw.
The Two Sawyers A beat the Magnet A 5-1 in Woolage Green. Stuart Richardson (6,590) put Sawyers ahead, John Higgens (3,670) levelled, and Alan Smith (4,630) put the home side back in front. Two Sawyers took charge of the doubles with victories for Smith & Richardson (4,090), Richardson & Gary Clarke (4,580) and Clarke & Smith (3,870).
Defending champions Chequer Inn kick-started their campaign with a 5-1 win at home to the Market Inn A. John Addley (12,100) put the ahead, courtesy of a 10,260 opening break, Derek Latham (5,370) won for the Market, before Chris Saville (3,940) put Chequer back ahead. All the doubles went to the Ash side, via Addley & Wack Sampson (6,510), Tim Bourner & Neville Potts (6,440) and Saville & Bourner (6,690).
In Division 2, Royal Oak extended their lead with a 6-0 win away to Betteshanger Bowling Club. Steve Lake (5,190) and Roger Oldfield (4,350) won, before Mark Graves edged Warren Cowdrey 1,440-1,330. The doubles went to Graves & Lake (3,410), Oldfield & Graves (6,260) and Lake & Oldfield (5,020).
The Plough & Harrow from Tilmanstone moved second with a 4-2 win at home to the Two Sawyers B. Karen Keen (7,860) won with a 3,380 break, and Ann Keen (2,280) also won for the Plough, before a Sawyers success for Phil Rye (2,420). Craig Brown & Rye (2,820) won the first doubles to level, but Plough victories for Ron Beer & Ann Keen (3,180) and Karen Keen & Ron Beer (2,030) secured the match.
