I will pass on all these goodwill messages when I get a chance to see her again. Pauline has not wanted any visitors since Friday when I saw her last, as she is feeling very tired due to sickness. :(

After giving my pint of blood at the John Radcliffe Hospital today I went to see Pauline at the Manor Hospital near by and it was good to see her looking so much better than when I saw her last Friday.
I told her about all the get well wishers on the forum and she said that's very sweet of you all.
Pauline is still on a drip so will probably stay in hospital for a few days yet but it was good to see her smiling again.
Keith. :)

Pauline has just phoned me to say that she is now out of hospital and being cared for by her sister Carol.
She's certainly sounding more cheerful, as I couldn't get a word in. ;D ;D

Great news about Pauline, as her results have come back and are benign. :)
She is still suffering with an infection that needs to be treated by a nurse each day, but it does seem to be getting worse.

The nurse said it could get worse before it got better, so hopefully it will start to change for the better soon.

Latest news.
I'm glad to say that Pauline's infection has now cleared up and is now just waiting for the hole to heal from the inside. This is being filled each day with 45cm of seaweed based ribbon dressing. ::)
Pauline told me that she can't wait to get back to work and to start playing Bar billiards again, hopefully the Buck's Open. :)

Hi Everyone
I would like to say a very big Thank you to everyone that has supported and sent me get well messages over the last few months and especially to Keith for keeping you all informed of my progress. It has been quite a traumatic time especially waiting for the results, which thankfully came back benign. I am well on the road to recovery but I am still having a nurse in every day and even when I go back to work I will have to call in at the surgery to have the wound packed and dressed. All the nurses are really surprised that I have had such radical surgery but all the signs were that it was ovarian cancer especially with the mass that was showing on the MRI scan. The surgery I had was a hysterectomy, bilateral sulphingo oophorectomy (I had to get Lin (Keith’s wife to check this for me) because I wondered what oopha I’d lost ;D) an omentectomy and an appendicectomy. As you can gather from this I’ve lost a bit of weight. I feel fine in myself and everyone keeps telling me how well I look, but at the moment my body is telling me different, never mind I shall soon be back to play my beloved bar billiards and meet up with all you lovely people. It was really strange not being able to go to the Sussex Open and obviously I will be missing the Kent Open as well. I have entered the Bucks Open hoping that maybe I won’t still be having to see a nurse every day, but even if I can’t play it is close enough for me to still see you all.
Thank you again for all your get well wishes and messages they were really appreciated.
Lots of Love Auntie Pauline xx

Great news that the results were benign and glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery Pauline 8-), little wonder that you are still feeling rather tender after that lot....! :o
Hopefully you will feel up to playing at the Bucks Open, or will at least be able to pop in for a while, you have certainly been missed at Sussex and Kent..... :'(
Take care and keep smiling! ;D ;D
Dave & Colleen :-*
PS. I will have to remember next time somebody tells me that I am overweight that it is nothing to do with the burgers, chips and fry-ups that I have eaten..... it's just that I still have all of my "ectomy's"....!! ;D ;D

Spoke to Auntie and she is now back at work, but only doing 5 hours a day which is enough for now. Well done Pauline, your cue is waiting for your return ;D Peetee ;) Pauline wants a practice ready for the Buck's Open, so she will play her first game of Bar Billiards since the Surrey Open tomorrow night, when we both go to Kennington Soc Club to play on Mark Trafford's own table, judging by the scores being made on it, it must be a very good table. I must say she looks really well again. :) Keith.

Great to hear that Pauline is feeling much better now..... hope she didn't beat you too heavily last night Keith! ;D ;D No Dave, Pauline only had part of a game as she found it a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure she will be o.k for the Bucks Open, nice table though in a busy Club with Aunt Sally, Poker!! and Pool matches being played.
