It started snowing here in Brighton about an hour ago...... about an inch so far, but coming down pretty heavily at the moment..... :o
BBC Weather website had said "light snow flurries" for tonight, with heavier snow due tomorrow evening..... but then they told us that we wouldn't have a hurricane in 1987! :P :-X
Glad I work from home..... ;D ..... although it means that I do have to work! ::)

A first - all four league games postponed here in Guernsey tonight and it hasn't even started snowing yet ! Mixture of players on holiday, illness and some worried about the forcast possibly ?
Went to Ex Sevice Club and saw a few of The Breakaways were practising. Well they do need it.............. ;D ;D ;D

Mama Hall was snowed in down Albourne way and had to turn the car round and go back. Margo and I braved the elements to get to Reigate without seeing a single flake fall, but while Silver Fox and Sleezy were putting a combined 37k past the two of us, it was coming down outside like a blanket. Took us a whole hour to get back to Crawley slippin' and a slidin'. Very scary. The forecast is for overnight more to fall on Sussex, Surrey and up to Berks and Bucks. I can't see many if any of the Mid Sussex Team Cup/Plate matches going ahead tomorrow.

I went to work at 3.30am and found that only one round had gone out, so came straight back home....Well as straight as I could as the conditions are treacherous and it's still snowing heavily now at 4.30am. :o
At least I can say that I tried. :(

I had to dig the milk out from a foot of snow though and I only knew it was there at all because of the faint footprints in the drive.... cheers Tony in a Witney Winter Wonderland.....

Just recieved a message from one of our customers due to collect their cats today...
Their flight has been diverted from Gatwick to........ PARIS, they think they could be a little late collecting ::)
We're OK down here, there's been snow on the ground for a few days now but not much, the biggest problem we've had was ice a few days ago, we had a light rain shower at about 7.15am which froze as it hit the ground, the path to the cattery was like a ski slope ;D

The rose arch in our back garden has collapsed under the weight of the snow. But it's tilted forward, sheltering the bird table and bringing the feeders 50% nearer to the ground.
The effect is that the crows don't now visit as they can't see the food, but the robins and blackbirds now get a look in along with our regular 'punters' (sparrows, starlings, magpies and pigeons).

Aah... its good to hear the old Sussex twitching stories, down here our regular visitors are Blue tits, longtail tits, wagtails, chaffinchs, the odd robin, a family of wrens who live in our shed and the barn owl who sits in our oak tree, not forgetting the buzzards who visit each day. We have one less greenfinch now cos our youngest has found her taste for the birds.

I managed to travel from Hollingdean Brighton, to Handcross Yesterday which took me just over an hour! spent just over an hour digging myself a parking space in the foot of snow they have. A quick stock take was done on the Acrylcs we have and another half hour spent digging myself back out. Managed to get in to work today aswell. Took me longer to de-ice than get in this morning! OH FIDDLESTICKS just remembered i forgot my sandwhiches!

No more snow here since early evening yesterday...... but the road outside is like a ski slope and I had to reverse down the hill to get out last night. ::)
A major sporting event has had to be cancelled due to the snow..... the Sussex Individual Competitions..... as the tables cannot be delivered to the venue. :'(

Wish i was in the same part of Brighton as you Dave. :( Here in Patcham (North Brighton) more snow overnight. Enough to fill in the few footprints up the pathway.
No milk delivered today a first for our milkman.
No buses.
The local co-op (10 min walk in good weather up steep hill then down the other side) just off the main A23 hasnt had any deliveries for 2 days. There was one on the way but had to be turned back.
Had to cancel our match tonight as there is no way can get cars out. Unfortunately the Henty is the furthest venue we have to travel to.
Please go away snow got to get my daughter back from Rotherham Tuesday and get to Kent Wednesday and its a blooming long walk! ???

No milk delivered today a first for our milkman. Well I managed to get in and out of the yard today, but then managed to lose myself when I fell over in 2 foot of snow on only my 2nd call. ::) It also took me a while to find the pint of milk I was holding. :-[ I failed to deliver about 100 calls of my 500 call round. :( Some other problems that I had to encounter were SNOWMEN in the middle of the road every 50yds, the first one was about 4ft tall so he must have spent a long time making it. A lad was on his fourth one when I came round the corner and spotted him making it, but this time he was doing a FAMILY with 2 big ones and 2 small ones all across the road, so I just ran over the smallest one :'( Later I reported him to a passing police car and told them what he was up to and that I'd run over a young one. ;D A bit later a van was stuck in the road so I had to reverse back 300yds to the next turn off so I could continue on my merry way. :P Keith 8-)
