With great forethought Margo happened to buy one of these last week: £12.49 at the local Garden Centre. Worth every penny. Cleared the garden path in no time. Also managed to unbury the car, get it going and make the weekly supermarket run.

Raining here and 4 degrees now (16.5 degrees warmer!), snow is going quite quickly. Weather Radar looks like there may be another cold plunge building North of the UK Sav

Sav It looks as if I've got a rival in the weather department!! ;D Weather forecast: UK Headline: Cold with rain, sleet or snow. Widespread ice at first. Today: A cold, grey day with most places seeing outbreaks of rain, sleet or snow at times. Mainly rain in southern areas, heavy in far southeast England, but snow in northern Scotland. Central and southern Scotland staying generally dry. Tonight: Snow spreading southwards across Scotland. Occasional rain or sleet continuing in the far south and Northern Ireland but otherwise dry. Temperatures falling rapidly, leading to a widespread ice risk. Sunday: Wintry showers for many northern parts, most frequent in northwest Scotland, but otherwise a dry day with sunshine in places. Staying bitterly cold as northerly winds return to many areas. Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Wintry showers for areas exposed to the north, otherwise mainly dry. Staying very cold with severe overnight frosts and freezing fog in places. More extensive snow for Scotland on Wednesday. UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Dec 2010 to Saturday 18 Dec 2010: It is likely to start mainly dry over much of the UK, however sleet and snow showers will continue to affect parts of the north and east. Some parts of the northwest and west may become cloudier and less cold with outbreaks of rain for a time on Friday and through the weekend. Elsewhere, it should remain mainly dry, with sunny spells and overnight frost and freezing fog patches, although still with a risk of snow showers for northern and eastern UK. Towards the end of the second week, there is a risk of it turning more unsettled with sleet and snow becoming more widespread, especially in northern and eastern parts. Temperatures will continue well below average with widespread overnight frosts and freezing fog patches where winds fall light. UK Outlook for Saturday 18 Dec 2010 to Saturday 1 Jan 2011: For the remainder of December and into the start of the New Year, temperatures look set to remain well below average for much of the UK, with often widespread frost and ice. Precipitation amounts are expected to be generally around average for many, with further snowfall a distinct possibility in some places. However, western parts of the UK may see more in the way of drier weather. Amounts of sunshine should be around or slightly above average for many. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) ;)

I'll save you one from our next delivery Dave, next week sometime (we hope), although cannot find out exactly which ones, maybe some of each - £10.99 type I can recommend or a £14.99 deluxe ( :-/). Can use them for leaf collecting too 8-) or get them from Lancing if that's easier :-*

It's all gone down here in Brighton (& Hove ;D). Roads are all clear after a day of rain and there is hardly a patch of white left anywhere. :'( Have heard you won't be coming down to Hove to play tomorrow night, apparently Redhill A have cancelled. ???

Still some snow around here in Crawley. Not surprised Redhill have cancelled, though, Reigate was one of the worst places hit.

Still some snow around here in Redhill, though melting slowly. The main roads are virtually clear but the side roads are still treacherous.
