Burton Cons A 2 Burton Cons Exiles 2
Burton Cons A win the Summer League 5 - 3 on aggregate.
Ian Coleman 6310 won Mick Loake 1110
Tom Ablitt 3160 lst Leigh Holmes 3920
Simon Coleman 4350 lst Roo Hare 8120
Ian / Simon 12790 won Roo / Jel 3040
After being 3-1 up from the first leg Ian took the first leg to move the A side closer to victory.
Tom Ablitt deputising ran close to leigh Holmes for a while before Leigh attained some vital points near the end.
Roo Hare posted a 4k+ break on his way to 8k over Simon, Si's opening break of nearly 4k getting him close to Roo before that decisive break of Roos.
Last leg then, A side just needing a win, exiles needing a win and overturn a very small score defecit. Simon started the leg with a determined 7.9k. Everybody else then had a go before Simon got back on to finish the leg off.
So well done to my team and commiserations to the Exiles. My man of the campaign is definitely Simon who gave away anything from 3k to 5 k per game due to the handicap system. I'm also impressed with the improvement of Roo Hare, I learned last night that he may be moving to the Reading area, a blow to the Exiles, but a welcome addition to any side in that area.
All in all a good season for us with us using two youngsters who will be needed for the forthcoming winter league. Thanks to Abington glass for sponsorship and all that took part,
Ian ' The Colemantor 1' 8-)
