While I sometimes like the idea of a change of system I think in this instance I would sooner have the old K.O system in place.
As it’s been decided to do it by Round Robin this year I would like to see less emphasis on aggregate to decide the group, as one team might play the best two tables in the group and not play on a more harder table, so giving them an advantage to score more.
I think the way to decide league positions should be,
1.Matches won 2.Points 3.How those teams got on against each other (if level) 4 Agg (this would only come into it if the top two teams tied their match against each other)
I know some people would sooner see points first before matches won but I wouldn’t, as it's a bit unfair if you have won both matches 3-2 and the team you beat goes through because they won 5-0 and lost 3-2.

I sort of agree with you about the knock out thing Keith, but it was becoming a joke with only 5-6 teams entering. It's unbelievable that Oxon, with four leagues and loads of teams, can only only get six entries. At least this way all the teams get a couple of games and I think it will throw up some interesting matches - maybe it will generate more interest in the competition. Just personal preferences but I prefer points rather than matches as it gives better all-round teams the advantage and we are trying to find the best team in Oxon to represent us and much as we all like to win, that is the most important thing in this particular instance. Let's try it and see how it pans out and change next year if there are any major problems. We always enter, not because we have any great pretensions about winning it, but feel that the competition should be supported. cheers Tony
