nar they havent googled it. Ive put a cat amongst the pidgeons by trying to get blaytent coaching outlawed in the Wellingborough league. Ive told other players of my quest and that were the only league around here if not the UK left playing with 4 mushrooms. You guys dont seem to agree with it and as weve a meeting comming up i expect other Wellingborough players are lookin on here to see how the game should be played.

If that happens it would put Northants in a very strong position playing and venue wise.

iM TRYIN TO PURSUADE THEM BUT THEIR A FUNNY LOT THESE WELLINGBOROUGH FOLK. The pubs currently in league are ........ The Eagle The Park Tavern (2 teams) The ranelagh (2 teams) The Royal (2 teams) The Volunteer (2 teams) and shortly The Red Lion at Bozeat but youve gotta bear in mind there are some funny rules over hear we play with one red six white and four mushrooms remember.

I believe also the scores for the holes at the back of the table are reversed too when compared to how we have it : (Reading across, we have 30,20,10,20,30 and you have 10,20,30,20,10) - also, after the 'bar' has dropped, all scores count double ?

yeah your right about the scores also last ball has to go into the 200 hole some teams remove all mushrooms except the 200 some dont i prefer not to remove them. once the bars down all points are dbl even the red so if its still up at the end its worth 800.

i,m currently playing for the ranelagh it seems like its the only table you can get on as an when . most other tables are either covered up or covered up and "oh no sorry YOU cant play that its for the team " petty and pathectic.

We must be able to get something sorted here!! It's just such a pity having two forms of the game in the same county when each league has so few teams!! ???

We must be able to get something sorted here!! It's just such a pity having two forms of the game in the same county when each league has so few teams!! ??? It's been tried before Jase, the Wboro league saw themselves as unique and wanted to stay that way at that time and quite right, however, it is still odd that there are two versions of the game here where one game is the most popular country wide and the other is odd, the tables as i remember are the same, i have seen jelkes boards with 4 pins , PF will say the the 4 pin table is narrower, i don't recall that, if they are, then to play the same game in the same league would mean getting rid of those boards, i don't think that will happen.

I think it would be great if any sort of real co-operation can happen between the two of you and it could be that the 3 pinners change codes to the 4 pin way ;D ;D but seriously any support from either side would help everyone.
If more 4 pinners joined in with the forum I would support creating a separate section for them to debate what can be done and we could try to help in whatever way they think the best, and of course it would be great to see what goes on in Northants away from those that usually post here ;D ;D ;D
Pete good idea sending the 'stuff' to Sav. Graham

We could develop this. Get the 4 pin guys to give you a bit of training in their game, and then next time you come on your seven counties tour we can have a North v South 4 pin challenge match alongside the official match (if we can find a pub in Sussex or Surrey with two tables). I can bring along a set of four mushrooms.

BEHAVE ! it,d be a valid reason for a drink. We have matches on tuesday nights (yet another differance eh) we are in middle of the doubles knockouts at moment so the teams are spread throughout the differant venues. Next time we have a full team at home i,l let you guys know the more the merrier. But i,l talk to my team mates an i,m sure we can organise a 4/3 match if ya promise not to thrash us , i,ve seen some of the scores posted an either were really crap, you guys are really good or 4 pins harder. We,l have to organise a match to find out eh.

Too right mate. Could nip down for a quick game during lunchtime.
Pete - Let us know when you are playing at home, and a few of us will try to get over. If your interested, we are playing at home on Monday night next week at the Burton Latimer Cons Club if you want to come along.
