Match 1 - Steve Beach v Alan Messer Game 1 Steve kicks off with 4k, Alan knocks in a steady 8k to win the first against the break. Game 2 had Steve chasing 5k in a little over 6 minutes to win but appeared to rush it after only 1.5k. Alan won 2-0. Sorry for the sketchy details, did not see most of the match.
Match 2 - Barry Holt v Doug Mahy Game 1 Barry kicks off with 7k and, Doug gets break back with just enough time but fails on 2k. Barry adds a further 6k just to prove that it could have been done. Game 2 Doug off early missing first split. Barry gets break back and, at 3k, looses concentration because, to be fair, it is a bit too easy at this point. Doug playing dreadfully, Barry playing well. Barry misses. Doug gets break back and manages to start in the same way, just not able to get the one up right. Then something happened, not sure what it was but he finishes well, touching up on 9k. Game 3 Barry has a great break going and finishes on just under 14k. Doug now has 3 minutes from the first game plus a full second game to catch. He pulls handle again on 3k, gets shoved by a Loci customer going to the loo on 7k, and rolls in a further 7k to win!! What a great match, shame there had to be a loser. Doug won 2-1
Congrats to both players, commiserations to both runners up.
