Hello,
I have just purchased a table at auction - it's structurally fine, the slate is nice and clean, but the surface needs replacing (I'm still waiting for the table to arrive, as it's being shipped out to me in Japan). I've done a little searching around, but can't find any bar billiards-specific information on the best baize size or any specialist tools I might need. I've recovered a standard pool table before, but I'm a little worried about the plate at the front - does this need to be removed in order to resurface, or do you just measure and cut around it? How about the cushions on the sides? Any advice would be very welcome - many thanks!

Don't know if you ever had the courtesy of a reply from one of us, but have only just spotted this due to a reply from a non authorised poster.
If you are still struggling please post again.

Many thanks - luckily one of my coworkers had some experience with table resurfacing, so we managed to sort something out. Also pulled the clockwork mechanism apart and got that working, it's been an educational but enjoyable experience.
I think this might even be the only bar billiards table in Japan - if anyone's ever over this way, please drop by for a game!
