It's a bit far South as I'm in East Grinstead on Monday. Sav Definitely worth popping into the Rose and Crown (only pub in East Grinstead with a table). Non-league, sunken pockets, no D (Bell Leisure wouldn't let me put one on so I've left a few with the landlord !) interesting electronic timer with pound slot on the side of the table............ Good bar food menu (generous portions) and the table despite its shortcomings plays absolutely straight and superbly !

Sounds like Darren played well to take a frame off you in the Sprackling Cup. ;)

I may have asked this before but Darren Newnham... Vic & Lesley Newnham (Victory) had 3 sons, Tim who captained our BB team, and last heard of living in Cuckfield, the middle one (I cant remember his name) and their youngest was Darren.
Is it the same person?

I'm sure you're right, Bernie.
And the middle son was Ian, I think, he went to the Sloop to take over as manager in the late 80's.
Tim used to always bum a lift with us (the Victory B team) to Finals/Presentation night. ;D

Tim used to always bum a lift with us (the Victory B team) to Finals/Presentation night. ;D Picking his nose & eating it ::) Thats why we never knew about finals night, we were the lift providers for league nights. When you next see Darren can you confirm his identity for me, and pass on my regards (he wont remember me, he was young at the time) I tried to get Tim back into BB a few years back but he couldn't leave his Dad alone in the house, bad habits but a nice guy

This seems to be going off Topic. I don't think the 2 are the same as I don't remember Chase Newnham ( Darren's brother) at the Victory.

This seems to be going off Topic. I don't think the 2 are the same as I don't remember Chase Newnham ( Darren's brother) at the Victory. It's Chase Newman, Ian: a long-established player who we know from his days at the Horns Lodge. He's no relation whatsoever to the Newnhams.
