Thanks to Dave, Phil, Janet & co who put a lot of hard work into today. Pity there weren`t more players for this very good competition. The organisers would like some feedback concerning the lack of entries and why it is so poorly supported.
Thanks to my luvly partner :-*, who played her part today, especially getting us through the semi final against Janet & Graham.

Congratulations to Kev and Hayley a very fine win ;D
and to Pauline and Mark Trafford 3rd Reserve Partner ;) as RU looks like Keith goes down the rankings here :o :o ::) ;)
Brilliantly run day and as said above a great deal of hard work put in by Dave, Phil and Bar staff.
The only point for me was the tables and how some of them played from the break. I fully support Phil and all his efforts in setting up and am not in any way criticising him. Phil himself watched our game against Janet Burns and Graeme Alder and noted the table was playing differently. It was a very humid day so I suppose this could have an effect.
Still we do now have a new phrase for the 'Newson' little book of etiquette on how to play Bar Billiards 'Car Crash Bar Billiards' which for the uninitiated in his speak means it's a disaster!! sums up our game play for the day

Cheerful Keith :P ;)

and to Pauline and Mark Trafford 3rd Reserve Partner ;) as RU looks like Keith goes down the rankings here :o Cheers Chris and well done to them, but at least by not playing I managed to get to bed for 7.30pm, as I wouldn't have if I had entered this competition again!! Never mind as I had a lovely day in the sunshine with Lin in a lovely pub garden (Rock of Gibralter at Enslow) by the canal. ;D Keith 8-) PS But I didn't have a lovely night as I got absolutely soaked. :'(

Unquestionably. That rule still counts :-X However there were 2 matches only left to play, It was decided to ask the four pairs if they would prefer to omit those games to avoid prolonging the competition by 40 minutes :'( when the results would have made no difference to the final table results. I for one was pleased they did not play ;D and we were able to go straight into the semi-finals.
A good day with lots of games.
Congrats to Kevin & Hayley and thanks to all those who turned up to play.
Thanks also to everyone who stayed to pack away and clear everything away. Especially to hayley who helped while Kevin was playing thier way to the Pairs Title ;) :D ;D I was only watching anyway she said ;)

Well I do owe you one or two Keith... and hey it was poor old Mark that took the stick being declared as Pauline's 3rd choice after you and Stephen but in true jest...
Glad you had a good day and fully understand your dilema re playing and work.
