I don't wish to put a downer on any of these competitions. But please remember ANY UNPAID COUNTY FEES WILL RESULT IN EXCLUSION OF PLAYERS/TEAMS. If this is you then please contact AEBBA Treasurer Mark Trafford so that he can cross you off the list of non payers.

I would hate to miss any competitions because of unpaid County fees, so can we have a list on here of those that are still outstanding. Keith :(

AEBBA rules are quite clear, agree those counties should not be permitted to enter this year's round of competitions unless fees are paid.

Gary Powell has qualified for mens all england singles for Surrey. I have eMailed Gary for official confirmation of Surrey's team entries and representatives, but have not heard back so he may be on holiday at present. Have also asked him to get Colin Frost (RDBBL Treasurer) to confirm that all fees have been paid. I recall that the same allegation was levelled against Surrey last year and proved to be unfounded.

I have eMailed Gary for official confirmation of Surrey's team entries and representatives, but have not heard back so he may be on holiday at present. Well I've today heard from Gary, who we find is recovering from an appendix op. :o Hoping you have a speedy recovery m8. Nigel - can confirm Surrey A will have a side for the County Champs (Div 2). Also that Gary is fine for the AEBBA Singles. We can't confirm the rest yet until he gets a response back from Denise (about Ladies' teams and Alison) and Colin Robbins re the National Team event. (It should be the Garland, but a guest player will have to be drafted in as Geoff Jukes is a double qualifier). Now regarding the AEBBA fees.............................. Could either Dave Alder or Mark Trafford confirm exactly how much and to whom the cheque for AEBBA fees should be paid, and the address to which to send it. Gary will then sort it out straightaway at next Thursday's Redhill Committee meeting when our Treasurer will be present. Gary has commented at the rather arbitrary manner in which these amounts are collected. The last time he was put on the spot whilst over in Jersey (2008) and immediately wrote out a cheque on his own personal account. With the AEBBA now running more along business lines (with table hires, etc), surely it should not be asking too much for each County to receive a standard letter - or simple invoice - demanding these fees ? To save postage these could even be given out at the AGM in December. It would certainly help to allay any confusion in the future, and preclude any Counties from being unjustly vilified as 'bad payers'.

County Fees Outstanding Sussex 2010 Surrey 2009 & 2010 Northants 2007-2010 In 2007 we appointed a new Treasurer, so i presume our old one just sent payments automatically off. It has been mentioned 3 times to myself that we owe some fees, ( I was not even aware these existed ) and on each occasion the person did not now how much. ??? I asked them all just to drop an email, letter or phone call to me and it will be paid by return......Still waiting. As we have had commitee changes not everyone knows about these charges and therefore we should not be judged as " Bad Payers" As the offical people in charge of our league did not know about them. In 3 years we as a county have had no proper correspondance to say that we owe any monies. Is it too hard for an email to be sent out so these fees are made aware of to newly appointed committes, as our game is struggling enough without Counties being threatened that they will be kicked out. :-/ If some one can PLEASE this time send me all the details i will arrange a cheque to be posted after our next meeting. A Pm on here will be fine.

Further developments to notify on behalf of Surrey, having spoken to Collin Robbins:
1. Definitely one Surrey Ladies team please, with the possibility of two (t.b.c.)
2. Richard Plaw has been invited to form a Surrey 'B' side, Richard to confirm if it is a 'goer'.
3. The Garland A are now definites for the National Team Championship.
Thanks, tommo

All cheques should be made payable to AEBBA and sent to me at
42 Otters Reach Kennington Oxford OX1 5QL
I find some of these comments quite strange. Every county know they need to pay these fees in January every year. If committee's change in counties, how are we to know ? It is up to the counties to pass on the relevant information to the newly appointed committee. Requesting an invoice to be sent out is just asking and creating for more work from us which is unnecessary.

Now lookey here Mark,
Colin Robbins has been Surrey's County Secretary for many years, and he told me (today) that when Dave Barnes was in charge of the AEBBA, an annual information pack used to be sent out to each county.
This contained the calendar of events for the forthcoming year, as well as a note requesting county fees.
It would appear that this service has been discontinued with the change of All-England personnel.
You have not provided an acceptable and valid reason for this.
I would remind you that not all County officials own or use computers, not everyone is computer literate. By using the Forum and relying on others for communication you are putting unwelcome burdens on Third Parties like myself.
I thank you for advising the details of address and payee, however, I need you to confirm the exact amount that Surrey owe, as I seem to recall this coming up at committee a year ago and our (very trustworthy) Treasurer Colin Frost saying he'd be dealing with it.

I will sort out the cheque for Sussex this weekend and get it sent off. I assume the fee is still the same?
I do think an e-mail, letter or something could be sent to Secretarys/Treasuer just as a reminder. To be honest having been Treasurer for Sussex for 2 years I wasnt told these fees were meant to be paid in January.
Also the last 2 years I requested a receipt to be e-mailed to me so i had a record (also for the buying of the tables). Still waiting!
Sav in the quote you did it says "An annual affiliation fee shall be paid to the Association by each County, the amount to be determined by the Annual General Meeting, which will also decide a date by which fees will be due." Surely Counties should be told the amount agreed and the date its to be paid by.

Sorry but this is incorrect, if you have never been involved in paying this, how were we meant to know. And yes i fully understand people do not want extra work, but just an email once is a year would be satisfactory for people to know. Anyway if someone could give me an exact amount that Northants owe, we will be more than happy to pay this. ;D

I understand the problems with committee and secretary changes. When I took over fron Dave Barnes I was unaware of the annual collection of county fees, I was also unaware of the letters sent to secretaries asking for these fees.
I can only apologies to those counties unaware of these fees. I will in future prepare invoices for each county at the AGM in December. It would also help if each county sent at least one representative to the AGM. Some counties are still not turning up.
These cost of county fees are £20 Per Year

Can now confirm Surrey Ladies A, Surrey Ladies B and Alison Norman for the AEBBA Ladies Singles.
The only one Surrey can't advise yet is Surrey B team for the men: this has been entrusted to Richard Plaw to arrange, and he will confirm or otherwise on here when ready.

Many thanks for all the info so far.
IMPORTANT - it seems (down to me I hold my hands up here) that the date for the county champs that I have put is not the one that was decided at the AGM!!! Dave had booked the 26th Sept for this years county champs. HOWEVER, as the 19th Sept was the date published by me at the start of the year on the forum and the newsletter and no one has queried that it was wrong, we believe that a vast majority (hopefully all) counties have been planning for the 19th Sept. So Dave has now booked the PO club for the 19th and the competition will take place then. I apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
Keep the info coming....
