The senior management of the forum have discussed the current management structure and decided to make several changes.
The executive decisions are currently made by Nigel, Graham and myself. Nigel has found it increasingly difficult to contribute enough time to the forum to be involved in executive decisions. Nigel has offered to stand down from this role and become a global moderator. Graham and I have discussed this and decided to accept his resignation. We have invited Clive (Tommo) to join us as a board director with full rank and privilege that goes with the position. Clive has recently retired and has accepted the post. He is full of enthusiasm for his new role. Graham and I welcome him to joint ownership of the forum. Graham and I thank Nigel for his assistance in building the forum into what it is now.
It is our desire that AEBBA has a representation on the forum management to enable us to work closer with them. It is hoped that the AEBBA Secretary will join the forum management to work alongside Nigel, however Dave has proved extremely difficult to make contact with despite repeated e-mails and messages to his family.
Three of the global moderators, Steve Beach, Jason Clough and Alan Messer are no longer frequent users and posters on the forum. We have asked them to stand down as global moderators and thank them for their contributions in the past.
We also felt it necessary to increase the representation on the management structure from members in the Northern counties. Tony Willis has been invited to join the management team as a global moderator. Tony has shown excellent commonsense, judgement and technical ability in the past. I am pleased to say that Tony has accepted the new management post. We hope that, given time, Tony will become a valued member of the management team, possibly helping in a technical role which is currently solely occupied by me. The management welcome Tony to the team.
I hope you will all agree that these changes will strongly benefit the forum in the future and that you welcome the new streamlined forum management.
The global moderators will still be responsible for the day to day moderation of the board. They are not expected to moderate their own area due to possible subsequent unpleasantness at local league matches, but advise the other moderators (unless an emergency decision is needed). The board directors will continue to assist the globals and make the final executive decisions and are your appeal level if you disagree with a moderator's decision, The director's decision is by majority and is final.
Sav.
