I was under the impression flippant meant disrespectful, sarcastic, offhand but perhaps I'm wrong Whatever In this context, Jean: Absolutely no disrespect intended. And the 'clever' part obviously not working....LOL

It certainly wasn't "intentional" leaving Kt off the list. As I'm the person who sorts the engraving on trophies I will be honest and say that it never crossed my mind as I thought it was for first timers. If someone would let me know the score to put on the trophy I will be happy to get it sorted although it will be a bit out of order. As Jean says, if somebody could confirm which break we are going to base the award on I will be more than happy to add KT to the list on the Sussex Website.... I have an advantage over Jean in that I can cut and paste the information in so it will be in order there! ;D

BUT.......... To make sure all bases were covered, I thought I'd better check elsewhere on the SCBBA website, and two earlier ones are mentioned on this page: ::) www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/SCBBA/High%20B-S.htmI think this proves without doubt that Kevin is owed a t-shirt ! ;D Having now had a chance to do some research of the old records, it would appear that the 21,080 break that KT made at Roffey Club against Micky Fairs in an Inter League match during 2006/07 season was probably the first one that he made in Sussex.... the fixture list for that season shows that the game was supposed to have been played on 29th / 30th April 2007 so I will use that on the Sussex website unless anybody knows differently? I thought it was quite interesting to see that his opponent then became the next person to join the 20k Club.... when he hit 21,350 at the Roffey Club on 16th October 2007.... 8-) .... presumably not against KT though! ::) ;D

All this makes me wonder when Kevin actually made his very first 20k break. Back in the 70s?

We're not quite there yet, as a quick study of the thread "20k breaks in Sussex" reveals the following: I did a 23.010 at the Lewes Masters at the Bridge, Newhaven. It was the pub table, although moved and relevelled. There have been 3 at the Tap. 2 from me and 1 from Lloydy this year. I did have one also in the summer league as well, not sure if that really counts though. Did you get Reevesy's 24.300 at the Stadium this year and Kt's 21k at the Windmill.
Notice there are none at the Swan, although I did get a 20k score on there this year. Just out of interest Tommo, who are the most prolific 20k break posters in Sussex, I am guessing but I would imagine Steve Mariner has probably got around a third of those breaks. So details required of the aforesaid 21k at the Windmill, Southwick. Possibly in the Littlehampton League, the first he played in 'down here'.

Not wishing to ignore Henry..... Henry Brooks 21820 - 980 Peter Burchell Many thanks to the Greyhound. Match going down to the wire, meaning that I touched on 10k and then added the rest later. Kevin's trophy remains safe on his mantelpiece! .....it seems he had one eye on the trophy all the time, and was only teasing ! ;D

Suggest that it is unlikely that it was Littlehampton League as I don't think that there was ever a team based at the Windmill in Southwick in that League.... KT did play for Three Horseshoes in Brighton League that season but his highest score shown on the Brighton Website in the League that year was 17,070 and there is no record of KT ever hitting a 20k in Brighton League in the "Hall of Fame" on their website.... :o My guess would therefore be that it was made in Worthing League.... but I can't see any "history" on the Worthing Website and don't know if they have any records for 20k's...? :-/

Nailed it ! Scores from last night - Windmill 1, Three Horseshoes 4 A.Brewster 4920 Mal Spier 7000 B.Kerr 960 Chocie 8020 S.Aylemore 6180 Ricky 4120 R.Cunningham 3190 Kev Hall 3800 T.Jenner 0 Kt 21620 (pto) As the result wasn`t in doubt i had a go at Chris`s high break. A minute less than the Stadium clock & five visits to the top of the table (probably going to quick) soon scuppered that attempt, but with a 20k+ score. Yes, Dave, you were quite right, it was Worthing league and the match secured the championship for the Three Horseshoes at their first attempt. I thought TJ had been keeping a bit quiet about this one! ;) :D ;D

Sussex dont pay for them Clive..... Steve Mariner covered the costs.. but now it is down to Nigel and Myself to cover the costs. I was being flippant, Kev. But glad you've pointed that out as others might not have realised. ;) I still think it's being a bit mean of Sussex if excluding KT from the list was intentional. It doesn't cost anything to add a line on a spreadsheet, surely? :-/ Think its time for another proposal, 20k teeshirts should not be financed by individuals should come out of League funds probably scbba. i'm sure that at a rate of 1 every 3 years or so its not going to break the bank. regs cs

As far as I know the 20k t shirts and trophy was not introduced by SCBBA and not really anything to do with them. I think it was a personal idea introduced by Steve and then taken over by Nigel and Kev

Believe that break was against me and KT with the league decided gave himself a rare opportunity to go for the high break, but althugh excellent break did not overhaul Chris Reeves, from memory.
Am still rebuilding Worthing History section and time always seems to get the better of me.

In all the excitement we seem somehow to have overlooked K.T.completely, he should have joined the list with this one in the 2012 Grand Prix (and there could be others...): Take your pick from these........ 20800 Rd 4, Oxon Open 2008 20950 Rd 2 Portsmouth 2008 21450 Rd 2 Kent Classic 2009 20300 Rd 2 Kent Classic 2010 20800 Q/F Oxon Open 2011 22350 Rd 3 Kent Classic 2011 20340 Rd 4 Bucks Open 2011 21600 Rd 4 Surrey Open 2012 20650 Q/F Kent Classic 2012 20240 Grand Prix Final 2012 This is as far back as I have been able to go checking the AEBBA website.... KT moved down to Sussex from Oxford in 2006 so if there was an earlier one the information should be available to find out on this Forum. Tommo How about 2007/2008 inter league match - 24740 at the Imperial against Neale Chamberlain. If he had not played 2 shots at the top of the table he would have made 25k

He has now been included in the list on the Sussex Website... www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/20Ks/Exclusive%2020K%20Club.htm

Hopefully easy to fix. Cheers, tommo Dave I know you fixed these once, but they've gone again........must be a little bug somewhere in the system ! :o

As usual, if anybody spots anything that is wrong or can add any information to some of the old records that are missing please let me know. ;) Hi Dave, What a great job you are doing, and I hope that you get a show of thanks for all your efforts on behalf of Sussex when the AGM comes around. Just one little thing I've spotted - and it proves that we do look at this stuff - on the rankings Colin Robbins has not had his 10.9 RPs credited to him from the Home/Away competition. Should push him up quite a few places in the table ! Cheers, tommo

Should push him up quite a few places in the table ! Thanks for spotting that Tommo, the spreadsheets I use for the Inter League Results and Averages has an automatic block on Ranking Points for the "non-Sussex" based Teams (Redhill & Tunbridge Wells) so it does not transfer them over automatically to the spreadsheets that I use for the Sussex Rankings, although individual players within those teams are eligible for Sussex Ranking Points if they play in a Sussex League, as Colin does. So, I have to remember to manually transfer those over for Colin, Geoff Jukes, Richard Plaw, Denise Wills and (at one time) Tommo as well.... clearly I had forgotten Colin this time! :-[ ;D Rectified now and updated.... www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/Rankings/Mens%20Rankings%202012-13.htm... which leaves Colin on the fringe of qualifying for the Sussex Masters in June when the Top 24 all play each other. ;)
