Roffey SSC 1 Dun Horse 4
Mick Fairs 1760* Colin Bolton 4570 Pete Fisher 3320 Keith Etheridge 1620* Glyn Owen 1780* Grant Hope 2340 Dave Howlett 790 Scott Hope 3020* Dick Cable 1720* Dave Simmons 2080
A somewhat unexpected but welcome result for the Dun this week on a table that favoured Twiggy’s ‘Peg Fine’ tin. The usual mix of good chat and raucous banter with the Roffey boys rounded off with turkey and cranberry sandwiches. How festive! :D

Alfold Club 5 Springbok Club 0 Played at The Crown
M. Greening 2370 N. Peckham* (Burgess) (Jackpot) 1130 ;D
Jackpot started quite comfortably putting some decent points on the board. The Majors first visit saw him edge in front. A fairly even game, but the experience of the Major won through.
R Burgess 4300* B Hicks 870
The points do not reflect the true game as Bill was unlucky to lose quite a few points finding the white peg on more than one occasion. None the less Rob played a steady game and deserved the result.
D Slater 1450 N Adams 610*
Dave started OK but found the split a little tricky, Nath playing his first match was a little nervous, which showed. A bit of a nip and take game, one that Dave edged in the end.
G Fishburn* 3270 K Nixon 260
Gaz flew out the blocks leaving a good gap between him and Ken, who struggled to make his mark. Gaz was never under any pressure and took the game with some ease.
T Goacher 980 R Parsons 370*BP
Ron did not find the split giving Trevor the opportunity to make a quick lead, no it did not happen. In fact Ron took a comfortable lead, while Trevor struggled with the table. Sadly Ron was robbed of 1K on the board, plus another on his score at the visit, when the ball kicked back from the top of the table to skittle the black peg. Trevor won, but it was not deserved.
A good night and it was good for the Springbok lads to have familiar faces showing them the cup format. Great food from the Landlord, sweet & sour, chips and sausages, not an egg in sight.
