Good luck to the Zeds @ the Windmill, while I play in the Watney Mann Final!
Remember to HIT the break as it is a bit slow! ;) ;)

Well, we played on it last night in the Horsham League, and the break is on (and the split!) but as hinted, you have to get the pace right on each shot.
Good luck to the Fox in the Watney Mann Final........ 8-)

Dun Horse 5 Alfold SC 0
Scott Hope 5830 Garry Fishburn 1400 Garry slow to start, allowed Scott on the table to pull a couple of thousand ahead. Another 3k midway made the game safe.
Grant Hope 4230 Mal Greening 1680 The Major started confidently before breaking down with a misplaced one-up. Grant had a couple of visits before getting his eye in and overtaking the Major with a couple of steady breaks.
Dave Simmons 7350 Robin Burgess 2640 Robin started well but broke down early. Dave managed to get the break back and pull 2k ahead. Robin did the same to pull about 400 ahead. Dave managed to find some inspiration and plugged away at a 5k break to leave Robin with the last ball.
Stuart Hope 3170 Trevor Goacher 2040 This game was closer than the scoreline suggests. Scubafrog not quite getting far enough in front to start. Stuart managed to catch up, then nose in front. Scubafrog managed to get a break going as the bar dropped but by then it was too late.
Colin Bolton 2740 Dave Slater 950 Dave rattled his opening break shot down as clean as a whistle, then left both up. With a sitter like that Colin stepped up and scored 50. That rather set the tone for the final game with lots of awkward leaves – and some spectacular get out shots from both players. No large breaks but some steady break building from Colin secured the 5th frame for the home side.
A rather unexpected 5-0 win for the Dun on a top which caught everybody out at some stage. The element of luck certainly went in our favour tonight. A good night with plenty of friendly banter at times and a fair bit of chat.
Oh, I almost forgot, there were some sandwiches too. Egg ones! :-[

Dun Horse 5 Alfold Club 0 :-X
Well as Dunplaying states a bit of a shock result for us Alfold Boys.
Yes the table had a a bit of a quirk, but we all saw it and should have played the table accordingly. I was personally gutted as thought I had played fairly well only to let a lack of concentration lose me the game.
Not taking anything away from the Dun Horse players, they were in good form and deserve the result.
A good evening had by all and yes there was some good chatting to be had.
Nice sandwiches, egg, egg, egg oh and some ham, Dunplaying was highly delighted ;)

Limeburners Cricketers 4 Springbok Club 1 ;D
John Schofield 1190 Tug Wilson 850
Mark Davis 1200 Bill Hicks 1250
Brian Goodchild 5560 Ron Parsons 300
Chip 7740 Ken Nixon 350
Billy Hammond 3110 Neil Packham 1320
Another loss for the Springbok Lads, but they got a point on the board at last, well done Bill.
Report from the Alfold team is that they had a great night, decent food, loved the pub and the fact that the quiz night, which was on attracted a gaggle of beautiful women :) No wonder Ron was distracted ;)
Pickled Onions and Chillies provided and very much appreciated.
