Well done the coloured team (Chris, Nige, Steve, Marc and Dan) we gave them a good beating. 17-7 final score.
A special mention for Nige ‘the cat’ Senior who kept out shot after shot. It was a good 15 minutes before the whites scored in the 2nd half.
One double save by Nige, included a punch out only to find the ball coming back at 3 times the speed, where at full stretch, he flung out a hand and deflected the ball onto the bar and away, that was brilliant.
Look forward to the next match, and I don’t feel too bad for an ‘old-one’

Isn't it tough keeping up with the old ones at "our" age Steve?

For anyone that wasn’t there, the save that Steve mentions I think will be compared to Bank’s save from Pele in the 1970 World Cup!
Well done to the coloured team and commiserations to the whites.
Look forward to the rematch on June 28th

GLENN-Bright red T shirt face to match. Hard to distinguish where the head and T shirt joined. Keen for 5 mins then slowed down to a snails pace. KNACKERED,SWEATY,FIT TO DROP sums up Glens game.

As you "MEANT" to say, Glenn. Why don't you use that b..... spellchecker. But I hope you clamp down on "d" for being so horrible to you. There couldn't have been too many spectators at the match that this could have been. Process of elimination?

Hi Guys
The final line up for tonight
Me Marcus Nigel Dudek Steve mariner Mark james Chris reeves Martin Smith Mal Speir Kevin Stoner Henry brooks Glenn Chubb Nick Brown
Looking forward to it already, my legs and lungs are not so keen.
Mark, directions are easy. Follow along the A27 and take the turning off for portslade and west hove, go down the slip road and under the bridge, about 100 yards later you get to a roundabout, take the third exit (last exit) and keep going along that road about half a mile later you are there.

Apologies for posting on this subject in this thread, but this message is aimed specifically at those taking part in the football tonight (Tues 28th June)....
The Sussex County BBA committee meeting takes place tonight at the Stadium, commencing at 9:30, conveniently timed so that those committtee members who are playing football nearby can attend.
If any of the other footballers (or indeed anybody else) wants to come along, to witness for themselves what goes on, or just to enjoy their post-kickabout drink in a bar billiards pub, then please feel free to do so.

Well done to everybody who played football yesterday at Portslade, I thought it was a much-improved quality of game compared with our two previous efforts, and that every player, without exception, did really well.
I'm sure that others will embellish later, but for the record, the result was an 11-11 draw between the following teams were:
(colours) Steve Mariner Chris Reeves Nigel Senior Martin Smith Mal Spier Kevin Stoner
v
(whites) Henry Brooks Nick Brown Marcus Chipman Glenn Chubb Mark James Richard Wooton

I had great fun plaing this match.
It was, well, it was like a football match with movement off the ball, marking and all other things that impressed me. Still a thousend thngs to be worked on, but alot better standard by all invloved.

Really enjoyable game and as Mark says the quality has certainly risen from the earlier games.
A draw was a fitting result as the teams were very evenly matched.

Well done everyone, thoroughly enjoyed it, although I was sorely disappointed with Glenn - he didn't go nearly as red as I was expecting based on what I heard about the first game!

Good game.Thoroughly enjoyed it,especially a crunching tackle on Marcus knocking him to the ground (hope you're leg's ok).Think Glenn's been training, played well,no red t-shirt or face to match.Looking forward to the next game.

I think a special mention to feed the goat for his first goal a 360 degrees spin followed by a shot into the top corner. And also nick brown who flicked it out wide to Henry who headed back into the middle, Nick then piledrived it into the goal, i think if nigel had been in the way it would have floored him.

Hi guys
The football is provisionally booked for Tuesday 19th 8-9pm. And the good news is its outside, as the temperature will be unbearable inside. I have to confirm the booking on Wednesday as I can't book more than a week in advance.
Can you please confirm if you can play, preferably before wednesday and also do you prefer outside as i can always change it to inside when i phone on Wednesday.
cheers
