Hi Guys
The following is a list of who is playing on tuesday
Me Marcus Nigel Dudek Mark james Chris reeves Martin Smith Mal Speir Kevin Stoner Glenn Chubb Nick Brown
10 of us. Steve and henry cant make it.
I think 12 are really needed as the outdoor pitch is a bit bigger. Can anyone think of anybody else that might want to play ?

Before anyone else posts a match report, I'd just like to take this opportunity to pour scorn on any upcoming rumours about us playing a ringer in place of Mark James.
I heard a suggestion that we played with a rather talented footballer who happens to be Chris' friend!
'Mark' was in vintage form, looking somewhat younger (and shorter?!) than in previous matches. He ran all night long and scored numerous goals with all manner of trick shots, helping our team (me, Chris, 'Mark', Martin, Dudek and Richard's friend whose name I've forgotten) to a resounding victory over Richard, Glenn, Marcus, Dave, Kev and Nick.
We played outside this week, and it was fun. The pitch was a bit narrow and there was often a delay whilst someone trotted off to retrieve the ball!
Richard managed to score 9.8 for a remarkable dive in the penalty area, adding in a twist and double roll for good measure before landing on the goal line.

Greetings fellow footballers. I'm glad that my "understudy" was able to turn out, and that my enforced absence didn't result in teams of uneven numbers.
Whilst putting out the rubbish on Tuesday morning my back went "ping" (never previously had so much as a twinge in my 47 years on the planet) to the extent that when I was taken to the doctors that morning, I was unable to walk from the car to the surgery door without assistance. I hope to return to (what approximates to) full fitness in due course, fortunately I don't have any bar billiards to play for a while.
The only upside is that I'm now reclining at home, enjoying the first day of the Ashes.
Hope to see you all soon.
Mark

Fully hope you are enjoying the Aussies jump about.
I wish I could find a way to go off sick while this Test is going on.

Hi Mark I was enjoying the cricket until England started batting ~ 25-5 (McGrath all 5)..... Pete get yourself a Hernia or back pain, at the right time of course ;)

I wish I could find a way to go off sick while this Test is going on. Two days off should be plenty to see the whole test at the rate is's going. Have a good rest Mark.

Blimey Mark, didn't realise you had hurt yourself that badly.
Best wishes mate, hope you get better soon, and hope England's batters raise your spirits a bit more than I am sure they did today

Richard. Hopefully it's getting better slowly, though I've spent much of the last week in a bit of a stupor, having been prescribed something akin to horse tranquilisers.
I'm signed off work for another week at least, and I'm hoping to feel some considerable improvement over the next few days.
As far as sporting activity goes, it'll be a little while before I'm fit to play a game of bar billiards, let alone football. Good job it's the close season....

Aah the subtle wittiness of this message board is so brilliant sometimes!

I have never considered my wittiness very subtle at all. It is usually thought to be full frontal, if you pardon me being so full frontal with you H. Shouldn't you be studying? Anything I can help you with? I have 6 "O" levels, which were passed when they meant something? I even studied for 3 "A" levels for two terms, before fed-upness got the better of me. (English wasn't one of my subjects). I also have a black belt in Sudoku

Hi guys
I think we have to cancel the match as a lot of you can not make it due to leagues starting. The only thing I can suggest if you are still up for it is to play on a Friday night.
Let me know if a friday is ok
