Blue Ship 2 Dun Horse 3
Colin Cathie 1310 Colin Bolton 2360 Ding Johnson 1630 Scott Hope 2480 Alan Maybee 2800 Stuart Hope 4010 Mick Johnson 5420 Grant Hope 1200 Steve Holden 5230 Dave Simmons 2800
Colin B broke off in the first game – and that was about it really. More a war of attrition than anything else. The holes, particularly at the top, seemed too small for the balls. Colin C unable to make much, Colin B managed to hold a few more to take the game.
Scott and Ding had a ‘snakes & ladders’ kind of game. Get a few, get a few, lose a few. Scott managed to be in front at the end.
Stuart broke off with about 900, then followed with another couple of reasonable scores to pull 3k ahead. We thought he had it in the bag at that stage as Alan had yet to hold a score. Alan however managed to get the break back and managed to get to within 1000 before breaking down. Another couple of scores held for Stuart made the game safe.
Grant fluffed the break allowing Mick in for 3k. Grant struggled valiantly from there but the table said ‘No’.
Dave left the one-up short on his opening break. After a couple of visits, Steve managed to get the break back for 2k. Dave answered with 1k5 before getting bogged down at the top. Steve managed to get the break back again for another 2k. Dave still struggled with the table until the bar dropped and hey-presto 3-ball shot and break back. This is becoming a habit! :-/
A narrow victory for the Dun tonight on a very unforgiving table. Mick and Steve played home advantage well, everybody else struggled. Blue Ship team good company as always. :D

(Not sure its gonna make the TV tho) A great sense of humour Skippy, but surley the term 'Aussie Pricks' is a bit much, they are useful, unlike the Aussie Cricket Team ;D

Roffey Club 5 Springbok Club 0
M Fairs 3420 R Kirkbride 540
Robin found the break a little to quick but did manage to pot a couple before Micky got to the table. Mick was not as fluent as normal, however he put together a decent break before letting Robin on again. Unfortunately Robin struggled to put on points and Mick comfortably secured the first win.
L Cable 6450 R Parsons 70
Ron started hitting the break too softly leaving both balls up. Lee stepped in gratefully to put 1K on the board. Ron did not fair any better and Lee was left to accumulate the points to win the game. Good to see Lee about again.
G Owen 1830 K Nixon 1140
Ken broke confidently and put decent points on the table, Glyn found it difficult to make any in roads, while Ken on his next visit got the break back to rack up a decent score only to split 4 times leaving Glyn to push ahead. Again Ken got the break back only to split 4 times again and when he did eventually put a decent score together to edge in front he pegged out :'(. Glyn won the game, but to be fair Ken was unlucky.
P Gibbs 4870 G Marshall 1160
New boy Gary started well and found the split straight away putting on a few decent points, Peter got the break back on his first visit to put a decent score on the board. Gary did not let this effect his game and continued to put together some decent shots, however not enough to effect the result.
D Cable 7800 B Hicks 550
Bill started well and put together 1.2K before pegging, this left Dick the opportunity to string together a decent break and though I am not too sure shat it was he was clearly in the zone. Bill had little opportunity to hit back and Dick secured the final game for a clean sweep of victories for Roffey.
Springbok lads should not be down hearted, they showed some glimmers of decent players and with a little more practice and experience they will start to put together some decent results.
Cheers to the Roffey lads for making it a decent night as ever, even though the football results did not go anyones way. Good food, great beer. Cheers
