I know Roo has the alter ego of a baby kangaroo called Joey, but did you realise that he also has a baby seal doppelganger ? Check this out: www.sealsanctuary.co.uk/roog06.htmlHere is an extract: ‘Roo’ as he is now called has been given a course of antibiotics and eye drops, as well as the normal aquavits and iron tablets. Because Roo is so young, he will be given a milk substitute, this will be fed through a tube into his stomach every four hours. After a few weeks, Roo will move onto fish soup, before progressing onto whole fish. Hospital Update: 22nd September 2006 - Roo is on fish soup now and doing really well. He is also moulting quite heavily and now has little black face and flippers, and is still sucking on his welly. Hospital Update: 1st October 2006 - Roo has now finished the fish soup and is being force feed fish, this will teach him now to feed. We have also now taken his wellie away and been replacing it with fish tails, so he needs to concentrate on fish. Roo has now lost most of his white hair and all he has left is a white bottom. Hospital Update: 20th October 2006 - Roo has now been moved down to the nursery pools, and is learning to feed himself. Unfortunately he has a very short memory span and has yet to get the hang of it. Roo has had his flipper tagged and this year they are orange and his number is ‘01’ Let's hope that our own aquatic friend recovers at an equal rate !

Well, two messages of sympathy have come in................. Saddam would have liked to have been at the party, but he was feeling a bit ropey at the time. :'( And Nobby sends his regards, but doesn't want to catch Fish Flu, so it's a case of "no tongues". :-X

Now this is spooky.................. Word must get around quickly as Roo has already attracted a fan club: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6234909.stmNext will we be reading that "someone blew a seal on the River Nene" ? Might need one of your special inventions........... ;D

I've not heard much Tart activity lately :-/ that is apart from hearing the full story of Roo falling in the pond New Years Day ;D Penny Birch thought they should call him Flipper and Jel came up with Free Willy ::) If anyone has got a better name for Roo..............

|
|
Post by Deleted on Jan 10, 2007 17:52:23 GMT
Well, he was christened Richard, so he could be "Moby" Dick too. I think a special composite name, H/V/P style, is called for here : Something like Moby Flipper Free Willy Green Welly Codfather Pondlife Nemo Swampy Jacques Cousteau Snorkelsborg Roo. And let's hope his fish flu doesn't get any worse:

;D I like that name Tommo. It kind of rolls off the tongue like that small town in Wales with 'gogogoch' in it ::)
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch I believe. Imagine them in your barbillirds league! :o

Yes, imagine in the A v B local derby: the home captain would get writer's cramp !
Anyway, We have a new candidate for the Tart awards of 2007: He is young Adam Bateup and he plays for the Brewers Arms in Mid-Sussex. What do you reckon of : Cut-offs; a pony tail; a straggly beard; celtic tattoo on right leg; and also managed to whack his teammate Jock in the side of the face with his cue. And, re the cut-offs, they must have been cutting in where they weren't wanted, as he kept having to "adjust" himself while playing his game. ;D ;D ;D

Anyhoo Master Bateup will get his due desserts :P I must admit I missed that. How observant of you. ;) And regarding the comments on Sav, he's a lightweight in the sartorial stakes - we're in Steven Sheard territory here. ;D
