Dun Horse 1 Southwater SC 4
Stuart Hope 2170 Ray Manser 4890 Dave Simmons 1900 Tony Temple 5710 Colin Bolton 2150 Mel Blake 3750 Grant Hope 1190 Tony Franks 8490 Scott Hope 6880 Keith Newman 3350
Ray out in front from the start. Stuart did get a break going midway until a miscue around 1k6. Ray back on for another 2k took the game
Tony and Dave both had (and blew) good opportunities early on until Tony got his head down and played to the last ball for 4k.
Mel played steadily in the third game, Colin had chances but struggled with the one-up.
Franksey showed us how it should be done with an exhibition of careful play, kicking off with 5k+. Grant, like the rest of us, struggled to get a break going. Franksey towards the end teased in another 2k+.
Nogs started the last game with about 1k. Scott quickly got his head down for about 3k – and kept going! Why didn’t the rest of the team think of doing that??
A disappointing result for the Dun tonight. For some reason we’re struggling to play on our home top at the moment. :-/ A good night with the Southwater lads with plenty of chat.
As it was the last game before Christmas everybody was looking forward to some deliciously festive food to round off the evening, but of course being the Dun Horse we got a big tray of sodding EGG sandwiches!!! Why??? ??? :-X ???

The Crown had thier second visit to The Stout House in a week but The Zeds were less accomdating than the A team ;D
Vern 4910 - 4010 Barney Barney good 2k opener, Vern came back to get his nose infront bt 500 , Barney no luck Vern then had the chance to seal a comfortable win but choked. Barney unfortunatly couldn`t keep it going til the end, close game 1-0
Andy Finn 940 - 8510 John Thayre John also opened with 2k and another 2k after Andys miss! Andy not having the best of weeks, John finnised with 4k 8-) 1-1
Junkie Miller 6510 - 4510 Hugh Another goos frame here with Hugh breaking with 3k, But Junks straight back with a flawless 6k to win the leg 2-1
Richard 6300 - 5590 Colin Good points from both players But Richards mid frame break 6.5k enough to seal the win :) 3-1
Foxy 12670 - 850 Ricky Surprisingly Ricky off at only 250 ::) I got the break back put 2.2 up, Ricky could not find his touch and I made it safe with 6k followed by 4k run out 8-) 4-1
Good banter as always nice trays of sarnies Oh and a chorus for Mr Finn :D :D
Nb Mr Miller made all his 1 up shots last night! A welcomed 1st for the season ;D

Firstly... Thanks go to Lin & Mike at the Windmill for always making guests feel welcome and putting on some lovely food including roasted chestnuts, Very Festive! All at the Stout House wish all at The Windmill a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in 2011.
Secondly... The matches and result
Tony went off confidently and found the break, putting scores on the board. Mid game Ron had a miss cue and dislodged the BP. Game 1 to Stout House.
Pete & Tommy had the game with no luck! Both had more lip outs then Mick Jagger... Pete was up by 500 when the bar went, Tommy dislodged the BP going for 200. Game 2 to Stout House.
Adam had small 1K breaks throughout the game to keep nudging ahead of Steve & when Steve dislodged the BP mid game it was an easier task. Game 3 to Stout House.
Captain Gordon played the best of all on a tricky top to score just shy of 5K. Game 4 to Stout House.
James, out last again was nip & tuck with Lin until he dislodged the BP mid game and gave the table & match to an impressive Lin. Game 5 to Three Bees.
Three Bees 1 - 4 Stout House

Springbok Club 0 Railway 5
Sadly no points chalked up for the new team and I have no report from the match, so going to rely on others to fill in the gaps.
Well done to the Railway lads.

Alfold SC 2 Roffey Club 3
R Burgess 5490 D Cable 5810
Dick started with a solid 4.5K break, Robs first visit proved fruitless, but Dick did not capatalise. Robs next visit heralded a 4.2K break, so game on. Things pretty even, though Dick got his nose in front as Rob got the break back and bar dropped leaving little time and even less balls to do much about it :'(
D Slater 0 M Fairs 19340
Mick obviously like the table and broke with a credible 16,540. Dave missed his opportunity to put points on the board and Micky finished with another 2K plus to claim the game. Pretty to watch and Mr Fairs at his best.
T Goacher 2540 P Fisher 3610
Peter broke only to peg out on a decent score. Trevor equally broke well and put points on the board. Pete was struggling to get the break back and Trevor was happy to keeping adding the points little by little and leaving the shots awkward for Pete. However, experience should of told Trevor to get head down and a**e up rather then bugger about as Pete, eventually found form in time to get the break back and take the game as bar went and clearing the table of balls.
G Fishburn 7250 G Owen 3280
Glen started well putting 2.5K on the board, Gaz came back with a grand and then another 5K to take the lead. Glen continued to chip away and was only beaten by time. A close game regardless of the points shown.
M Greening 8460 Twiggy 200 (BP)
Twiggy started off with little to show and seemed to be struggling with the very awkward split ::). The Major hit 1K on his first visit, followed by 5K to take the lead. Twiggy patiently added points, but found an awkward ball at the top of the table behind the 10 pocket a little bit trying and the BP went tumbling. Still he did pocket the remaining ball in the 200 to at least spare his blushes.
This was a cracking night of bar billiards with both sets of players contributing to a great match. Lots of laughs as you can expect and great food from the Major

Thanks Richard, Have now brought the website up to date in line with this. The For and Away columns didn't balance, though, and I've discovered that the Three Bees should have 24 points, if results so far are to be believed ! tommo
