Lets hope the Zeds bring their usual complacency & cockiness....!
No pre-match practice tonight Jim!!!! Remember you are our guest tonight. Dont get there before 8.... Give us time to doctor the table like an Aussie groundsman.

Stout House Derby
Gordon Carver 5150 - Vern Sparkes 8970 4k from Vern Gordy back with 3.5 after a few goes each Vern back in with 4.5 Gordy runs out the final mins 0-1
Sam Short 3610 - Richard Plaw 3590 Richard did a Junkie and left the 1 up short ::) Sam played some good shots and although it was a scruffy affair Sam was on the table when the bar dropped and finished off 1-1
Pete Marley 3380 - Andy Finn 6120 Andy got off to a steady start , Pete kept in touch but Andy got in with a 4k to win the leg 1-2
James Norman 440 - Junky Miller 6420 John made 2k off the break before leaving? Jame not getting anything to drop and Johnny back in to win the leg 1-3
Skippy 3080 - Foxy 9120 Well I only managed 2.7 before hitting a split too thick! Adam got the balls back only to do a Junkie! After a few turns each I managed to wrap it up with a nice 6k ish to polish off the match 1-4 to the ZEDS :) ;) ;D 8-)
Plenty of the Banter not TOO much mentioned of the Cricket, Footie (Skippy is a Liverpool fan :D) A good night had by most I think ;)

Dun Horse 2 Roffey SSC 3
Dave Simmons 5680 Dick Cable 3790 Scott Hope 2750 Pete Fisher 5420 Colin Bolton 1450 Lee Cable 2540 Stuart Hope 4140 Dave Howlett 3780 Grant Hope 740 Glen Owen 4850
Third game played first. A rather messy game, Lee opened out a lead of around 1k, Colin gradually clawed his way back before Lee pulled enough ahead to take the game.
First game played second. Dick broke off with 3k, Dave answered with 4k. After a bit of messing about at the top of the table from both players, Dave got the break back and finished off with another 1k.
Fourth game third. Twiggy didn’t look too comfortable with the pace at the start allowing Stuart to pull ahead. Steady play midway from both players, Stuart fortunate to be on the table when the bar dropped scoring enough to make the game safe.
Second game next. Pete the Fish broke off with 3k. Scott straight back on the break, scoring well until a misplaced split brought him off at 1k6 and let Pete back on the table to extend his lead by another 2k.
Up last, with everything to play for, Grant played one of those frustrating games that you’d rather forget! :-/ Glen broke with about 500. Grant grafted the whole game but nothing was going. Glen unfazed by this, got a useful couple of breaks midway and amassed quite a respectable score to take the game and the match for the visitors.
Fun night as always with the Roffey team with the usual banter.
Obviously expecting our usual catering, I caught Lee munching a lemon halfway through the evening although he did sportingly eat a couple of ‘cheese & pickles’ before the visitors rushed back to Roffey club in search of cheap beer. This of course left us with a nearly full plate of Egg sandwiches. Thanks lads!!! >:( Fortunately somebody came in with a dog so we unloaded a few there. ;D

As Foxy's already said, it was a 'Zeds' 4-1 away win. Congrats to you all on the win, you are the benchmark and rightly so! Congrats also to our Sam, she hung in & played a blinder & I think deserved her game.
Happy hunting to both Stout Teams in the quest for silverware. ;D

Alfold SC 3 Railway 2
G Fisburn 4310 M Clack 2170
Both players started slowly finding the table a little indifferent (must have been the long holiday break). Neither player took the initiative with only a few points between them. Then Gaz got into his game hitting a decent 2K as the bar dropped leaving Mick no time to recover.
T Goacher 2800 M Cork 1480
Mike started brightly accumulating decent points, but was unfortunate to leave an awkward ball tight on bottom behind 30 hole which he missed. Trevor stepped in to put together 1.5K and then both players went off the boil. Neither player could put together anything worthwhile and Trevor held on to take the game.
M Greening 5400 M Davies 4530
Mark started with 2.5K with the Major coming back with 1.5K and with Mark not fairing on his next Visit the Major put enough points on the board to get within touching distance. Mark then responded with 1.5K to take a decent lead once more, but the Major played the table out with 2K plus to claim the game.
C Greening 3490 N Worsfold 7860
Nigel started brightly with 1K and the Minor's first visit was fruitless. Nigel then put together a credible 5.5K to storm in the lead. Minor was not disheartened and started to put together some decent breaks, including one of 1K, but Nigel's earlier efforts were enough to take the game.
D Slater 380 S Merriott 10640
Steve was on a mission :o first visit 4.8K, second a little over 1K, Dave then put a break together only to peg out. Steve stepped in with another decent break of 4K to win this game with ease.
Great start to the New Year with a cracking night. The Railway Lads were as ever, friendly and complimentary and a decent laugh was had by all. Cheers to the Major for the food and it was good to see the Minor back out on the table once again.

Springbok Club 0 The Crown 5
Sadly another crushing defeat for the Springbok Lads, who were a player down.
R Kirkbride 150 J Thayre 4050
Robin having had an eye operation on Tuesday was against it from the start.
K Nixon 840 P Barnett 4000
Ken informs me he scored loads of points only to keep finding the peg ::), (must have been watching me)
G Marshall 750 H Fowler 6270
Gary only playing his second league game is still learning, but he looks a natural so hope he sticks to it.
B Hicks 1520 D Sands 3610
The closest game of the evening, with the ever steady Bill making a good show of things, still not enough to hold Dave Back.
Final game walk over to The Crown.
As an outsider of sorts, I really hope that Springbok stick with it as they have added a decent venue to the league. Keep encouraging them and any guidance is always appreciated.

Hmm, somewhere along the line we've either gained a point or lost a point. Not sure which. ::)

I hate to agree, but Tommo`s right ;D ;D ;) I was worried we might have been docked a point for the never ending supply of Egg Sarnies! ;) ;D

Dave, Afraid you will have to undergo the formality of querying it with Peter, I don't really want to be stepping on his toes. ;)

tommo,
Peter mistakenly entered the 3-2 from Blue Ship Vs Dun the wrong way round. Will be corrected on next weeks table. Still leaves Div 2 very close....

Second Div is looking very interesting and a credit to the teams involved in making it so.
I only hope we can re-discover our winning ways ::)
