Stout House Z 4.5 Springbok club 0.5
Junkie Miller 2470 - Bill Hicks 2470 Scappy affair Bill needed 200 from the last ball and got it for the draw :o
Richard Plaw 3300 - Ron Parsons 1140 Richard made safe with a 2k
Vernon Sparkes 4200 - Robin Kirkbride 940 Vern had a nice 2.9k break to win this leg

Railway 4 Dun Horse 1
Mick Clack 5630 Scott Hope 3210 Nigel Worsfold 3830 Colin Bolton 1380 Mark Davies 340 Dave Simmons 7600 Steve Merriott 3700 Grant Hope 2080 Ray Gardner 1560 Stuart Hope 1000
Scott made a hash of his opening break letting Clacky in for 3k. Scott managed to get the break back reasonably quickly, only to put it down 4 times. He did get a break going in the closing stages for 3k, coming off 800 short. Clacky finished off to take the game.
Slow start for both players in the second, Colin keeping in contention until the closing stages.
Dave struggled with the break in his first couple of visits, fortunate to keep getting one in. Mark struggling with ‘square ball/triangular hole’ syndrome. Dave finally clicked and slotted in a steady 5k+ which was enough to take the frame.
Grant and Sniffer had a bit of a scrappy game with only one break of over 1k in Sniffer’s favour. Again, Sniffer made the game safe in the closing stages.
Stuart and Ray had a very scrappy game with lots of goes each. Ray fortunate to be 300 in front and on the table with the bar down.
Not the best of results for the Dun tonight but a fixture we look forward to during the season. Decent food too. ;D

Although it was a disappointing result for us, we would like to thank the Blue Ship for a top night & some good grub.

Jim you think that last result was a shock!!!!!!!!
I am very aware that the Crown lads will be anxiously waiting for this post, so I wont disappoint them
The Crown 5 Alfold SC (nee Alford) 0
Sorry no scores forgot to get the card off Ricky, put perhaps he will be kind enough to post them.
Ricky V Dave
Both players struggled with the table, but Ricky managed to put together a decent break to put the game out of Dave's reach.
Dave V Malcolm
The Major found the peg on his 1st visit, but Dave did not capatilise. The Major faired no better on next visit and Dave put in 1K It was then a case of hit and run from both players, with the Major finding the peg more often than a hole. To add insult to injury the Major skittled the BP with a ball rolling back from the top cushion! If anything at least he can say he formed a good relationship with Peggy Sue ;)
Colin V Trevor
Trevor too weak on the split, rather an up hill battle! Sparrow however, recovered the balls to put together a reasonable break. Trevor struggled with the complexity of the table and frankly was pants, not a good day in the office :(
Peter V Garry
Gaz started OK finding the break, but could not put a decent score up. Barney using his experience of the table managed to make some sense with the balls. While Gaz struggled Barney remained steady throughout to claim another scalp.
John V Robin
Closest game of the evening. Rob started quite well in comparison to the rest of the away team. John was in fine form and played some excellent shots. Rob managed to keep within touching distance but with the bar down and too few a balls could only play out to give a resounding victory to the Crown.
Now for a moan. The table is simply awful as the points will show if posted, even the Crown lads were unable to play their usual flowing game. We the away team simply could not handle it, ruined what should be a good game.
Sorry, the Crown lads not aimed at you, but something has to be done with that table. I do have some petrol and a dry box of matches ;D
