Dun Horse 2 Crown (Alfold) 3
Colin Bolton 1530 John Thayre 4450 Dave Simmons 2220 Peter Barnett 2900 Scott Hope 4230 Colin Barrow 890 Keith Etheridge 290 Dave Sands 1450 Grant Hope W/O
First game a bit scrappy, John not scoring many off his opening break. Colin seems to have overcome his ‘one-up’ phobia. John’s late 2kish break took the game.
Barney broke off in the second with about 1k, leaving Dave punting about with plenty of awkward leaves, including a red ball about 3” from the D which he cunningly whipped around the 50 hole into the 200! :o Both players spent most of the game squandering chances. Barney enough in front when Dave got the break back as the bar dropped.
Colin pegged his opening break, Scott pegged his reply. Nothing going for Colin. (Except pegs !) Scott fared slightly better with a couple of breaks to put The Dun in with a chance of the Match.
Dave started with a quick 700 in the fourth (and deciding) game. Supersub Keith immediately got his head down and compiled a hard fought break of 3k6 only to miss a ball behind the left 30. :'( Both players then settled down to see who could lose the match. Apart from a few odd balls here and there, the only other score was from Dave as the bar went.
Unfortunately Ricky had to cancel at short notice so the Crown only fielding 4 tonight. The table played rather awkward tonight and the white pegs were downright magnetic! ;) A good night with good company and plenty of chat. Amazingly the catering was eggless. 8-)

Congratulations to the Z's, very much on top form and most of us Awful lads just had to watch. One bonus about the dorsil's game is he kept quiet while on the table, which to my cost was quite a while ::).
Great to see their new team member Pimp in toe ;D, and he played quite well.
Sadly looks like our battle for Div 2 has taken a massive backward step.
Hopefully next week will be a bit different, know we can give a good account of ourselves when the opportunity is provided.

ps - how do you box a quote and then leave text under it? As you can see.... It didnt work for me last time. Ok I'll do a quote now to demonstrate. Look at the submission you want to do a quote on and press 'Quote' (1st of three boxes Quote/Modify/Delete over to the right of screen) It will prepare a new message for you with the quote at the top. Do not touch any of this text, just post your message underneath and press 'Post Reply'. If you want to quote just part of the text, eg ....just remove the bit you want and do as before. But you must leave the "bookends" either side of the quote for it to work.......and sometimes when there are too many quotes 'nested' around each other, it won't work as you want it - which is what I think happened to you in this case! ;) Hope this helps, tommo
