Stout House A 1 - 4 Alfold Club
A bad day at the office for the Stout team! Well done to the Alfold boys for handling a suprisingly inconsistent table better than us, a deserved win.
I'll leave the full match run down to Scuba.

Stout House 'A' 1 Alfold SC 4
In response to Skippy's post, it was a good result for Alfold, but it could of gone either way. It was a very tense night as both teams clearly wanted the result. There was good luck and bad for both teams, plus the table was a little quirky so no real advantage for the home team.
Pete 590 Dave 2240
This was a game of mixed fortunes, with Pete not getting the rub of the green. Had he not pegged out several times his score would of been enough to take the game. Dave played well to his credit, kept head down and focused, had to work hard at times, but he got there.
Tony 2740 Garry 1300
Gaz started brightly but left up short allowing Tony to edge in front. Gaz struggled with the bottom of the table, whilst Tony put together decent scores to take the game.
Adam 2340 Malcolm 3550
Both players started well putting 1k on the board, but then the balls found themselves on the bottom cushion and the Major faired better. Both players played decent shots without getting a decent reward, the Major keeping his nerve to secure the point.
Gordy 1660 Trevor 1840
Trevor broke confidently but left balls short on the one up, Gordy did not capitalise. Tension got to both players and things did not really happen. As the bar dropped Trevor had his nose in front but Gordy had the opportunity to take the game only to leave the final 2 balls up, which Trevor dispatched into the pockets to take the game.
John 1750 Robin 4730
Best game of the evening in respect of the highest break going to Robin. Both players played well on a difficult table and John took the lead, however Rob dug out a match winning break of 3K as the bar dropped to kill the game off.
We like the Stout House and respect their players, though a tense evening we still had a bit of banter and appreciated the friendly doubles at the end. Great Sandwiches, not an egg one in sight.
Cheers Guys.
