Half time in the match between Northants A vs Portsmouth.
The first encounter was played yesterday at Rushden Con Club with Northants running out 4-1 winners.
I will leave the captain to post the scores as I still am struggling to get over mis-cueing and missing the ball on 9k and losing the leg! îÂÂŽ
Aggregate advantage to Northants is about 25k.
Return has been agreed for Saturday 9th July in Portsmouth.

Jase started with a break of 7610 before missing,once Barry got on the table he missed early and Jase got the break back straight away adding another break of 9100.
Lorin clough 1340 Brian Daniels 3790
scrappy game to start with,both players missing early chances to make a good lead,Lorin got the break back with 9 minutes to go and knocked in a 9 grand break.with seconds left to go,Lorin left a ball behind the hundred hole,he missed-cued losing his break and giving Brian the leg.
Damian Coates 8050 Dennis Clayton 2110
once again both players never looked like they wanted to win this game,both Dennis and myself having plenty of chances at the break.with the clock ticking i managed to get a 5 grand break to steal the leg.
Steve oram 4470 lee Redford 2630
the granddad of bar billiards vs the up and coming youngster,on paper it had all the hype of a man utd vs Liverpool game,in the end it turned out to be stockpot vs Peterborough.Steve just about squeezing through.
Andy chambers 8420 Alan chaloner 5430
the most exciting game of the night, Andy coming back from 5 grand down with a 8 grand break.great game.
the return leg Saturday the 9th.cheers.

after finally getting to Portsmouth an hour late(same old northants),tony stared with 7400 break.i had a few tricky balls down the bottom before tony on his own board got the break back and added another 3 grand.thinking that i would not get another go,tony missed again and i manged to sneak 2500 grand back to add to our aggregate.
lee Redford 4620 Simon Colman 4660
very tight and nervous game,Simon restored to the side after playing with sheep in whales the previous leg.Simon stared with the break and missed early giving lee a great chance to open up a lead in which he made a couple of grand.with 2 minutes to go,Simon got the break back and was around 300 behind when the gate shut.picking off the final balls Simon put the ball down the hundred hole at the first attempt to take a 40 point win and a very important away leg.
Dennis clayden 10790 Lorin clough 1100
what can i say.not alot,well played Dennis.Lorin's new car a unwelcome distraction.2-1
Alan challoner 4490 Stephen Colman 6890
fantastic performance from the under 22 champ,coming from 3 grand behind with a 5 grand break.
2-2. the leg we needed.well played Stephen, great win.
Barry radford 5670 Andy chambers 10520
with no pressure on the 5Th leg,both players could relax and soak up the atmosphere.Andy starting with
a 10100 break.Barry on his own table restored some pride putting in a few grand of his own.

great night all round,and good to see two players from this match getting to the Kent open final. :) :)

Oxford A v Northampton AWell done and good luck to all four teams. All these games must be played within August and September. Some cracking games last night in the 2nd leg played at The Fox Inn, Thrapston.
Northants A 2-3 Oxford A
Andy Chambers lost to Kevin Godfrey
Stephen Coleman beat Mark Trafford
Lorin Clough lost to Steven Sheard
Simon Coleman lost to Dave Tooke
Damian Coates beat Alan Oliver
Andy opened up with 6.5k Kevin got a 3k break, then had a couple of shots and then Kevin got a near 4k break to win.
I opened up with just over 6k and was about 6.7k up with 6 mins left when Stephen got them back and won by 30 by potting the last ball in the 100.
Steven opened up with 11k - superb as always
Simon missed early, got them back and was about 5k up when Dave got them back and he got a 7k(I think!) break to win, although a whipper just before he came off created a lot of ooh's and aah's from both sets of teams!
Didn't really see much of the last game, but from what i see Alan missed early and Damian made a sizeable break - maybe 10k but not sure.
Cracking match overall with a great chinese after :)
