Have added the Gildredge to the AEBBA map.
Uncertain what you mean about the Star, though, they're recorded too, but I have them down as a Non-League venue. :-/

Hi Tommo

Current Eastbourne league venues are as follows

The Star, Star lane, 2 teams
The Hurst Arms
The Seven Sisters Hampden Park
Jesters (was Minesota jacks)

Thanks for that, I will change the Star to "League venue" (= white peg rather than black on the AEBBA map).    And I will add the Jesters when I get a chance.

I took my information on your league, incidentally,  from this page on the Eastbourne website:

So am I to take it that there is now no Sharky's or Hailsham Roadway ?

sharkys is no more... the whole team moved to Jesters half way through this season

You are correct Hailsham Roadway ARE the 2 teams based at the Star

Much of the mystery about the Eastbourne Leagiue now resolved.

Hope you get a favourable response to your approach to Hastings - it used to be such a strong League and some good players still live in the area, but it seems to be lacking on the administrative side.

The Plough at Westfield might be a good starting point (see earlier post by TIR on this thread). They may well welcome a friendly match to get them off the ground. :-/

Sorry to disappoint but the Buccanneer had its table removed about 5 years ago! I remember it well as we were supposed to be playing a match there that night. (New manager with more interest in putting an extra restaurant table in than looking after 10 drinkers on a tuesday night ........GRRRRRRRR)

The Seven Sisters B team have relocated to the Eastbourne DGH club which now has Tarrat table with the approval of the Eastbourne league, so you should add this league venue to your list, will forward address/contact details shortly.

That always used to be a nice pub, enjoyed many a meal in there on the way to / from Eastbourne. 8-)

If they have got a table in there then it sounds like a good reason to stop off there again next time I head over there.... maybe even a possible venue for your Lewes team in future Gandalf...? ;)

There are always options warrior, the development of one area is usually to the detriment of another, now that eastbourne players have sampled the delights of Lewes and Hastings leagues the long term future of Eastbourne is in doubt and will be a difficult problem to solve. Watch this space....

I agree with Tommo.... I think that it is really good that some of your players are enjoying playing in other Leagues and, on behalf of Lewes, we are delighted that you have joined us.... but not if it is to the detriment of the Eastbourne League itself. :'(

Popped in the Barley Mow for a very nice Steak & Ale Pie lunchtime, after a bit of table leveling (Tarratt by the way), seemed to be reasonably level, not much chance of a home team side as no locals so we would have to import a team and Table 11 will need moving, nice arcade games machine here. Ah my student memories come flooding back ::)

However, there is a table at The Half Moon Cade Street Heathfield and have arranged a friendly with the locals

Maybe your Lewes League team would consider being based there for next season.... nice pub, easy parking and a bit closer geographically to the rest of the Teams in the League as well. 8-) ;D

We are playing a friendly at The half Moon Cade Street tonight and we are looking to see if the Junction Polegate will put a table in.

So I make it that you are left with 4 league venues and 4 non-league in the Eastbourne area.  Will bring the AEBBA map up to date accordingly.

That is a serious blow, the loss of a good Interleague venue. A nice colourful pub on the side of a hill opposite an impressive church.

I think if Horsham had to pick our most enjoyable visit last season it would be that one - fond memories of an honest table, a good jukebox, comfortable settee to park the posterior on, some really tasty pizza, and the episode of Dick Cable, Shirley and the necklace !

If you find somewhere half as good you'll be doing well.

Agree with you tommo a great venue which added to the enjoyment of the game, and thats what its mostly about at our level of play.
