I have found out the address and post code of the venue for those who don`t know where it is. I guess that`s just about everybody then ::)
Princes Risborough Golf Club Lee rd Saunderton Lee Aylesbury HP17 9NX
It`s roughly 7 miles north-west of High Wycombe on the A4010.

So are these directions right for persons travelling up from a southerly direction ? ...........
1. Leave M40 at Junction 4; 2. Follow the A4010 through High Wycombe and out the other side; 3. Take a left turn "Lee Road" towards Saunderton, golf course is on the left. 4. If you reach Princes Risborough you have gone too far.

Congratulations to Phil Collins in winning his first 'Open'. He defeated 'surprise package' (but seasoned contender) Alan Chaloner in the Final.
The Plate competition was won by newlywed Richard Wooton, the runner-up being Ian Lelliott - who only made the start of the day's play with 10 minutes to spare after Dave France had taken a wrong turn and continued half-way to Dover (now we know why he's called Dave France) ;D
Gareth Lloyd took the men's highest break, with 18k+ as he hunted down a first-leg deficit of 17k against Leon Beer.
Surrey's Josie Pitt was the furthest lady, making an impressive inroad to the last-16 stage.
An enjoyable day in an idyllic setting, and thanks to the Bucks organising committee for ensuring that the competition took place, bearing in mind the earlier problems.

Yes well done to Andy, Merv and all the helpers for running an excellent tournament. Great venue ( would love to had a round of golf seeing as i took an early exit, but still problems with the elbow) :( Congrats to "Fast Track" Phil on his first Open win, it was only a matter of time before the 1st one came along and it wont be the last either. It will be interesting to see who the Oxon selectors pick this year for the County side with Phil, Leon, Ray & Jon all going so well yesterday. Who are they going to leave out of the A side ???

I'd like to thank everyone for their support yesterday, and congratulations to Phil and Richard. Apologies for the distinct lack of seating yesterday and for the length of time that some of you were waiting for food to arrive. Unfortunately the club had 'double booked' so we were unable to use the whole bar area. We have booked it for the 10th August next year so hopefully any problems that we had this year can be rectified for next year. Merv

Here's the start times: Pete Odell v Ian Moss 12.15 Merv Can you let me know if this was posted incorrectly or the start time was changed as i told Ian he was playing at 12.15, but when arriving early (as i had to play at 10) he was told that his game was at 10, so was lucky we were in the same car!!!

I bet Leon was already thinking of the next round and not in the plate comp with that kind of a lead...

I would also like to say well done to Phil on his first open win and also breaking Sussex's run of open victories this year. Also Alan Chaloner had a great day to finish runner up.
Well done also to Andy Haines, Merv and helpers (especially Maria Hearne on the laptop) for getting the tournament running after it was in serious doubts a few weeks ago

Yes great day, excellent venue ( will put the clubs in the car next year.) Well organised, very well done to all those who made the later stages especially Phil, and as KT says sure this is the first of many. Found a good cafe for breakfast in High Wycombe on the way up, and although a bit of a wait the food at the venue very good. Bar staff tried hard to keep up, and hope support more forthcoming next year.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE NORTHANTS OPEN BUT AN APPEAL FOR PLAYERS FOR THE BUCKS OPEN.Colemanator We have 43 entries at the moment. We're going to make a decision on Saturday and I'll let you all know as soon as possible. Thanks for your all your support. Merv Come on lads, let's have some entries from Northants. After all, Bucks is the next county to you. Saw you all there last year. You have till tomorrow I think to enter. A nice venue this year, in the middle of the countryside, if that makes any difference. ;)
