Andy has said that these entries were not received. So, if he has offered to stand down to allow these "late" entries into the Open, the least they can do is to get there early to give themselves the best chance of getting in.
I think the organisers are being more than fair. Yes we must remember to add smilies when we are taking the micky Pete, musn't we??. ;D duly edited. Might be there myself on Sunday as I could be passing the door to pick up the Ebay Cheltenham Jelkes! ;D Sav

Everyone will be getting a game, fortunately no one will have to stand down as a couple of people have now dropped out. I can honestly say that if any missing cheques arrive, then they will of course be torn up. Merv

I wish to apologise for my very swift exit during the afternoon. I don't expect many to understand my reasoning, but I am afraid it would appear that I am suffering from a little bit of depression at the moment and needed to get home as soon as I could.
At least I now realise it, and can try to do something about it!

In case anyone is wondering who won -
Gary Johnson beat Mal Spier in the final. Well done to Gary (2 opens won this year), unlucky Mal who made his first open final (in addition to the alternative rules final last year)
Semi finalists were Simon Ellam and Mick Jones Losing Quarter Finalists were Nigel Senior, Steve Sheard, Tony Walsh and Bill Kerr.
John Addley won the plate (not sure against who)
Thanks to the organisers for a great day.

John Addley won the plate (not sure against who) Tony Hearne (Bucks) was the Plate Runner-up. He beat Chris Toner in the Quarter-final ( Chris had a great Open and won the ladies highest break prize) and Kevin Hall in the Semi-Final. John Addley was a surprise package and showed his former Kent County pedigree despite having been in semi-retirement for 10 years: In a single-frame :o Semi-Final against Dave France, he managed to overturn an 8k deficit. An enjoyable day, thanks once again to Mama Hall for driving and it was great to see the name of Bob Hall (Reaper's bruv) in the Plate last 16 in his first Open. 8-) He was not overawed by the occasion at all. Thanks to the organisers, and our thoughts and best wishes go to Ian Lelliott who had to miss the event through becoming hospitalised. Hopefully it's not too serious, but hoping he makes a speedy recovery. The same goes for Auntie Pauline who suffered a back injury earlier in the day and looked to be in considerable discomfort.

Yes another good day with one or two suprises, some new faces, nice venue and well organised. Lets not forget Tony Webster who despite a twisted ankle ensured tables arrived and set up, and hope Brians back gets better soon.

Not wishing to go off-topic too much but I would just like to briefly publicly thank those who have chosen to send me personal messages. I will also assure everyone that I WILL fight on as best I can.
