Having run the Portsmouth Open in the very distant past and able to schedule/sort tournaments, times... still have the formats from years ago... I am offering my support to BB Warrior in scheduling events, if he is ever unable to do so...
(despite that this may not be the thread for this discussion)...
If Pete no longer wishes to continue, although in my opinion he has done a grand job in scheduling from the limited time that I can comment on re being back for bar billiards events... I personally feel that the threads have only given praise regarding Petes work regarding schedules as BB Warrior has stated..
As one who also has to make arrangements for dogs and a very elderly mother in ill health, I fully understand the original and what seemed to me personally a very innocent request for information, which seems to have started all of this...
and to put this all into context re the 'real world' for all of us....
I have arrived back to the school I Head today... which is the largest Secondary Special School in England, and in one of the most difficult areas of Gosport...to discover the heavy rains have blown the drains internally. We have lost everything on the ground floor the bill now running at £100k plus. (We are insured) 50% plus of my students are Autistic and are now, as they need the routine of school, in termoil at home... I say no more..

This sort of puts things into perspective. Sorry to hear of such tribulations, Chris, what a thing to happen affecting so many people that will probably take ages to get sorted. Glad that cost is no problem but it's the inconvenience............ Thoughts also with Dave Alder, putting a brave face on things, and despite his request: I hope this will be the end of the matter and the discussions closed Thank you all Dave Alder .......we carried on regardless. I think I will follow the Colemanator's lead and ask that if anyone has further comment on how Opens are organised, could they do so under General Bar Billiards Discussion, please. This thread now locked.
