Yup,
Very interesting, only the second I have seen with the back pockets not in a stright line.
Good to see some variation, so welcome to the forum.
Is the playing surface base slate or wood please?
Best wishes,
Chris.

THX for welcoming :) Next "Slovakian open" ;D will be ?????? ;D But for fun we play everytime we want ;) But I will not make another video in short future, because it was hard work to process so many shots ::) Sav, can you give me link or picture if you have on the first table you saw with the back pockets not in a stright line? This is all variations I found www.tradgames.org.uk/games/Bar-Billiards.htmAnd playing surface base is wooden. This bar billiards was almost in every pub in Slovakia when I was younger (about 15 years ago), and today you can buy on some sites a new one.

Fascinating to watch..... certainly bar billiards - but not as we know it Jim! 8-) It looks a very skilful game with a whole new range of shots to be learned. And I like the ones when the balls jump into the air ! ;D Count me in for Slovakian Open ! tommo

I want to play this game. Lots of shots to be learnt and played, rather than reduced to 18 minutes of the same three shots. What's that I hear......BURN THE HERETIC!

A lot of shots was lucky ones ;D but some was skilled mainly in FINAL. But I failed to made two 50 holes from starting position. I am not so skilled, but sometimes I can do it (no as on videos of english bar billiards, that the players do it many times running). But on tournament I failed :-[ And some of my friends are not so good in this game, so the balls are flying out of table. I hate it, because it is destroying the balls. But on video it is funny moments ;D And I almost forgot: there are some photos of small version bar billiards (for kids). It was very popular in past in Slovakia too.

Am I the only one who has to get the writing so small to read all of this thread, using the control key and the wheel on the mouse to increase the width of what I can see. Is this just an issue for me, or is everyone having the same problem? Shaun

Fantastic to have this contribution on the forum!
You have to wonder if this game was in every bar 15 years ago I wonder if the game is bigger there than our game here!!?
Must say some fantastic use of the 100 pocket!
Thanks for the contribution Azuritko!

Welcome Azuritko, thanks for this, it's the most interesting thing I've seen on this forum for quite a while.
It looks like a really fun game, I want to have a go!

Very interesting, good to see that Bar Billiards (albeit another vesion) is being played. Next time I get a free pool table I might be tempted to build one of these and set it up at the Guernsey Open. Azuritko excellent post look forward to see more in the future.

Interesting to say the least, not so sure that it would catch on over here, but any variation like this shows has got to be good for the promotion of the game. Thanks for sharing this with us Azuritko. Maybe in a few years we could see the England team travelling to Slovakia for an International, played under the local rules over there.

I've been trying to find out more information about this game, but it's rather hard to come by, especially as the images from the original thread are gone now. The game is called "Gulečník", which is just the Slovak word for billiards. It appears to be played with multiple coloured balls, although I don't know the significance of this. The back pockets are arranged in a curve rather than a straight line, and there are skittles in front of the front pockets, similar to four pin, but with the correct number of skittles

This seems to be also known as neguš in the Czech Republic. I've also found a brief rules description, and the game is played almost exactly the same as bar billiards. Only one colour ball makes a difference in scoring, and the skittles work in exactly the same way. The main difference is that players aim for an exact target score, and exceeding the target is a foul. The rules can be found below, although you will need a translator www.cs-kulecniky.cz/pages/pravidla-kulecniku/pravidla-negus.htm

Yes it's a pity that the stuff originally posted by Azuitko isn't available for us to see now. It was a very skilful and exciting display. I did a thorough search of YouTube (and Google using key words) a while back with no success whatsoever.
