and so the countdown begins as on the 23rd of august 2014 the first Yorkshire intercity match takes place two teams from the cross scythes and the gardeners rest join forces to take on a strong York side the Sheffield guys will make there way though the York bar billiards venues hoping to bring the billiards trophy home this is great for Yorkshire bar billiards and our game in general we will be posting a full report after the contest should be a great day of bar billiards

Sheffield try to line up another challenge last night i spoke to a guy in the news-house notts were i am informed they have around 12 dedicated players who are in need of some one to play but with only 1 table in notts means no matches so i have invited them to come to Sheffield to do another challenge match Sheffield will take on Nottingham now whats the history on Nottingham? any old leagues again still early stages but will keep you all posted<br/>

The last piece of the jigsaw of the county's early bar billiards history falls into place.........
The former league's heyday was from 1983-1994 and the league was the Doncaster League: It was only when taking part in national events that they were known as "South Yorkshire".
