Did anyone ever consider the full implications of power sharing I wonder? Could this mean that Bar Billiards has no future in NI?!!!

Best of luck with the competition and let us know how it goes....as Chris said, anything we can do....

Wouldn't it be great if, in the fulness of time, a new international fixture was to emerge? That's one I'd really enjoy!

Planning a competition open to anyone in July here in Co Antrim, if anyone is interested from across the water in coming to Northern Ireland for a weekend of competition, please pm me.
We are calling it the inaugural Irish Open and will be run on Friday 26th July(doubles) Saturday 27th July(singles) and Sunday 28th July(finals day). The sponsorship of the event by The Five Corners Bar, Ballyclare, means that for everyone staying Bed and Breakfast, they will generously donate the income, back into the event as prizemoney.
Situated in the Sixmile Valley in Ballyclare, We will have 3 tables for the event which is played as the standard 3 pin version.
Our aim is to create a competition at a level so we can gain enough interest to send a team and individuals to the world championships in Jersey this year.
We are only starting out in the game but have an established round robin league in operation and we are very keen to take this to another level and get competitive. Many thanks for reading this post.
John Barrons (organiser)

Hi Chidley, This will probably be too short notice to a lot of us mainlanders, who tend to book our holidays well in advance, but you have to start somewhere and I am extremely impressed at the speed at which you have got your first Open up and running.
I have put your event up on the Forum calendar (click on the middle choice on the menu at the top of the screen and select July 2013) and I'm sure that an Irish contingent will be a great addition to the World Championships come November.
Regards, tommo

Unfortunately we are away on holiday then as I would have been very interested in entering, I've never been to Ireland but would certainly like to go there at some time. :D
Good luck with the competition, hope it proves to be a great success and leads to players from over there coming over to take part in both the World Championships and other competitions.... potentially this could lead to a Northern Ireland Team entering the County Championships and possibly even a new International fixture in the future. 8-) ;D

Many thanks for the feedback, I understand its a bit of short notice but it is going to be a regular fixture, so if you can't make it this year, maybe next year. :) By the way we have put up a website to promote the game over here. www.nibba.webs.com
