“Entry Forms for the 2011 Billingshurst Jubilee Team Knockout are now out - close date for entries 4th May, £5 to enter.”
So says Peter Gibbs, and I made a point of asking him last night if this competition is ‘Open’, as two teams from the Horsham League (Dun Horse and Plough) were admitted last year.
The answer was “Yes – to any team in Sussex and/or Surrey.”
Now, I know there are many like me who look back with fondness to the old Horsham Festival Cup and regret its demise. It attracted entries from both counties and one year an amazing 64 teams took part!
This is slightly different, they play 3 singles and 2 pairs, but it’s a good competition nonetheless as it could appeal to teams of differing standards: You can enter a team under any name you like, much the same as it was with the Horsham competition. And there is a Plate too!
Play will be throughout the summer months, one round per month, with the Final taking place in September. All matches will be played on Billingshurst – and possibly Horsham also – League venues.
Please register your interest on this thread by 29th April – if there are any ‘takers’ I will publish an entry form to put you in touch with Peter.

I am interested, if anyone is putting a team together and short of players I am happy to play ;D
Change of Plan.
The Plough P/G Team will enter... I will have a chat with the team and get it sorted.... We have 3 players in and I am sure we can rustle up some more of the current Plough team or other players if they are not interested.
How many players do I need to register (3 singles and 2 pairs makes 7 as far as I can see).

How many players do I need to register (3 singles and 2 pairs makes 7 as far as I can see). I believe that 4 is the minimum (3 players getting a singles game as well as a go in the doubles) or anything up to the maximum of 7 if you wanted to. If you ever played the Mid Sussex Charity games you would see that the format is the same. It is always a good idea to have a reserve or two up your sleeve if you progressed through the competition........................Captain Ron ;D

Thanks for your response, Ron.
I am keeping a tally of teams on the equivalent thread on the Billingshurst board, and will add the Plough Plumpton.
You will see an entry form (of sorts) on the same thread.
