Re-arranged game on the 20th Dec... Garland beat Salfords 3-2. Dave J. prepared the top nicely. Dave also ran in almost 17k. I was presented with a second chance and took it. Should have done what Dave did though... next time... Leaves the top four teams on about the same number of points. The league title is going to be decided in the play offs this year I reckon...

I am so shocked to hear of this. He was my team mate at the Admiral every summer, another good guy I won't see again. He was a quiet motivator too, a good team player. Indeed up until a couple of years ago he has never missed a Jersey trip... If you needed to know about anything to do with trains, Dave was the go to chap to talk too... I will miss him. G.

Garland managed to take the fifth leg in a close encounter. 3-2 to the Garland. Nice top. DC prepared it beautifully, reminded me of the Whyteleafe top 40 years ago. (Whyteleafe British Legion won the league title about 4 times in the 70s.....). John Peters, Alf Hunnisett, Alan Hall, Cyril Webb and Arthur Standing. You went to WBL and you knew you only had one chance... I watched JP, and saw what he was doing... R.I.P John. watch and learn... G.

Rei Ex beat the Garland 3-2. A pleasant evening, thumbs up for the new steward. The new top was ok, the doom bar was nice, and there was a nice spread of food.

Geoff through against Graham Holman in the Open Singles at South Park. Graham opened up with a very nice 8 grand in the first leg. But then his opponent rolled in 14k in the second. It was close, I had to keep him away from the table...

Garland through against the Monson Club on the Oak top. 4-1. Even though it has been moved to Salfords the oak top is still the same... An enjoyable evening.

Changing that rule for the inter league was not properly thought through I reckon. Why change something that had clearly worked for over 20 years? Playing in a Sussex league that nominates the order makes it more tactical and I think more interesting. And I also have played in a league that has drawn out the order for over 40 years...
