Henty Men 7 - 1 Henty Boys
Reports that the home captain had doctored the table have been subsequently proved to be unfounded, following an inspection by the league secretary, although the only win for the visitors was by Captain Russell Oakes which obviously gave rise to the suspicion.
Scores were low, not sure if the home team took it easy or the "off the spot" format was catching players out. Again pick of the performances for the Men was Father John closely followed by Stan, both of them nearly scoring a remarkable 2 grand.
Scores Stan 1,530 v 720 Melv Pete 1,470 v n/a Wayne John 1,640 v 1,170 Dan Jude 760 v Russ 1,320 Stan & John 3,120 v 880 Melv & Dan Pete & Dec 1,380 v 270 Wayne & Russ
LA Dolphins 2 - 6 Locomotive Wheeltappers
This was a well earned and deserved victory by The Wheeltappers. Best singles game of the night saw the return of Mark Brown for the home team whom got the better of the leagues No. 1 , Eric Hampton. Two all going into the singles meant it all rested on the doubles. Coach and the home team captain losing narrrowly (they had to concede the break) in the first game , but still give the Dolphins a good advantage with their team aggregate handicap. However Mr H. rattled of a superb 4k break in the last game to clinch it for the visitors. Markie B responding having chalked up over a grand in response only to carry out a four breaker.
Scores Gareth 1350 v 2820 Simmo BB 1140 v 1030 Paul Lady H 1820 v 3020 Mr H Mark 2180 v 740 Eric Coach / BB 1170 v 1340 Eric / Simmo Mark / Lady H 1280 v 5700 Mr. H / Paul
