Royal Standard V Gladiator Club 'B'
1. Tom Noakes 490 V Phil Clark 1310. Easy game for Phil. :) 2. Ian Tucker 710 V Reg Johnson 860. Thought Reg was going to loose this one, but he just held on. :) 3. Scott Moore 380 V Grant Johnson 1180. Easy win for Grant. :) 4. Tom Noakes 220 V Phil Clark 800. Lucky win for Phil. Tom played well, until a black peg, and would have recorded the highest score for the home team. :-[ 5. Ian Tucker 740 V Reg Johnson 1300. A good game this one and until the last quarter could have gone either way. :) 6. Scott Moore 470 V Grant Johnson 2280. Proof that the table is ok as Grant played a blinder to top score on the night with a score that should have been obtainable by all the Gladiator players.
:( :( :( >:( I was very disappointed as all the games on this table ran twelve minutes twenty seconds approximately. If this is not rectified by the beginning of the winter season, the Royal Standard will not be allowed to register in our winter league. The table is a Supreme table and as far as I know the only used in any league. The company just ignored my email requesting instructions on how to adjust the table timing. If anyone has any info on how to adjust the timing on these electronic timers it would be much appreciated. The thing that annoys me about this, is that committee members spent hours setting up the table to make it playable, only to be let down by the table rental company on the timing. This is an attempt to get Supreme tables into the Oxford bar billiards league, but it seems to me they are not bothered. This table played as well as most tables in the Oxford league and it seems a shame if this problem cannot be rectified.

Some interesting points raised in your last paragraph, Richard.
Am starting a thread for you under 'Table maintenance' in 'Club Class Lounge' to open this for wider discussion.

Good company and very good atmosphere. Excellent food ..chips, chicken. sausages and garlic bread. Pete

Whilst it is nice to see a new team in league I would like to think table time is put correct before they play next play at home

:-[ I know I moaned about the table time being too short, but as Pete said it was a good friendly evening and the food was good. I think the people who rent Tom the table are thinking the shorter the table runs the more money they will get. I have emailed two different companies, the manufacturers of the table and a rental company ( to get info on how to adjust the clock and other maintenance ), the manufacturers got back to me the next day giving me a rental companies address. I have still to hear back from the rental company ( 3 weeks and waiting ). I hope a ball or two doesn't get stuck in the table as Tom does not have a key to open the table and if the rental are as tardy with maintenance as they are with answering emails, it could be there for weeks. ::)
