Lady Ros defeats the Warrior twice in one night could it be time for a new name for Ros ? answers on a postcard & keep it fairly clean. ;D ;D Obviously you missed the fact that Ros also beat me earlier this summer at USC...... :-[ .... have to say that her victories were thoroughly deserved on both occasions. 8-) Some interesting ideas for a nickname for Ros..... I could probably think of a few myself..... :P ..... but possibly a new name for her team would be more appropriate..... ;D Having already used 10 players in the Summer Off the Spot Cup already..... with players coming from Mid-Sussex, Lewes, Worthing, Billingshurst (although poor Chip had only popped in for a family meal at the Eight Bells on a rare night off! ::)) and Jersey...... :o ...... we now hear that another signing will soon appear.... Our new Eight Bells signing for next season will make his debut next week against the Fish :o :-X ;) ..... although rumour has it that it could be 2 new signings. :o So, rather than Eight Bells Brew.....how about The Eight Bell Ringers...... or even The Old Chimers! ::) ;D ;D ;D

So, rather than Eight Bells Brew.....how about The Eight Bell Ringers...... or even The Old Chimers! ::) ;D ;D ;D Um - I thought the name of our team was the Eight Bells Brew - meant to signify that it is a mixture of Eight Bells players and players from the 2 Brewers teams. I can only find 2 players who don't fit that profile: Chip Sawyer and Graeme Le Monnier. Chip, as you rightly say, was having a meal with his family - which was fortuitous for us, as we found ourselves unexpectedly short (as in 3 players only) that night. We extended our hospitality to Graeme as a visiting Jersey player - but the Useless Shot Choice played Harry Barbet in much the same spirit. So where are the Lewes and Worthing players that I'm supposed to have played? ??? Our new Eight Bells signing for next season will make his debut next week against the Fish :o :-X ;) ..... although rumour has it that it could be 2 new signings. :o Really?

Gosh, silly me, I thought the only 'clanger' was the Warrior claiming that I'd played Worthing and Lewes players. :P Nice video though, Tommo! 8-) If I were going to change the team name, I would go with the Brewbells, which was suggested by Trevor after I'd already registered. However, I have found a picture of Ros Lai, daughter of a Nightsister and a Jedi knight: She thinks her new cue plays pretty well too. ;)

Gosh, silly me, I thought the only 'clanger' was the Warrior claiming that I'd played Worthing and Lewes players. :P No, obviously it must be silly me... oh, let's think about that again. No, not silly me at all! :P Let us look at the people who have played for the Eight Bells Brew team so far and the Leagues that they played in last season.... Ros Appleby - Mid-Sussex, Lewes & WorthingDerek Taylor - Mid-Sussex & LewesTrevor Appleby - Mid Sussex & WorthingNick Brown - Mid Sussex & WorthingRichard Jeffrey - Mid Sussex & LewesGraeme Le Monnier - Jersey Adam Bateup - Mid Sussex, Lewes & Horsham Chip Sawyer - Billingshurst Richard Spurrier - Mid Sussex, Lewes & Horsham Tony Driver - Mid Sussex I think that 7 out of 10 justifies my comment about players who played in Lewes & Worthing...... ;D .....although I fully accept that most of them did also represent either Eight Bells or Brewers teams at some stage. However, that doesn't apply to the "possible new signings" who were invited to play by you at the Worthing AGM last week.... both of whom are established Worthing Division 1 Inter League players and neither of whom have ever played in either Lewes or Mid-Sussex. :P The strange thing is that I am not complaining about this at all..... far from it...... I think that it is great to get new people coming to play in the Summer Competition and I truly hope that they enjoy the games, the more people that play the game the better as far as I am concerned. 8-) ;D

Going as far as China for your players now ! :-/ I am sure that it must be my fault (as usual) for playing Harry in the first game against the Eight Bells, he (and Gill) had originally just come along to support Gina in the game that night..... but sadly Gina wasn't feeling well enough to play when she got there, so Harry kindly took her place. ;)

Oh come on now - you are stretching this a bit thin! I could list all the leagues your players play for, but the point is that most of them are regular members of your squad - just as most of mine are regular players from the Eight Bells or a Brewers team. By the way, you forgot that I also occasionally play in Horsham League, (last season I played one, won one) strangely enough for the same team that Adam, Spud and Jock (oops, you missed him playing for Horsham too) play for. :P However, that doesn't apply to the "possible new signings" who were invited to play by you at the Worthing AGM last week.... both of whom are established Worthing Division 1 Inter League players and neither of whom have ever played in either Lewes or Mid-Sussex. :P The strange thing is that I am not complaining about this at all..... far from it...... I only asked one person at the Worthing AGM and he turned me down. My new signing approached me and it wasn't at the Worthing AGM. I'm delighted to welcome him as a full and regular member of our Mid Sussex team next year. 8-)

I wasn't eavesdropping at all, it was actually after I had left the Worthing AGM that one of the people concerned spoke to a member of my team about it as they wanted to know more about the Summer Cup Competition and Mid-Sussex League. :P Delighted to hear that you have got a new player for next season and hopefully look forward to them being let loose on to H and his team next week. 8-) ;D
